Hello. It's me who asked about definition of success rate of IVF some time ago.
I had my FET for my second IVF and found bingo on Monday.
I am so lucky! I checked myself by pregancy kit. it's a very red line which is exactly the same as the control line. Also I went to doctor for blood test on Monday. both results are positive.
However, Today, I went to ordinary clinic just to want to get a confirmation letter and they found me negative! They used a pregnancy kit and the line is so light I couldn't find it out almost.
will hCG decrease? why? it's because I drank too much water & VV too much? I feel very hot and thirsty these 2 days and I can't control myself keep drinking water all the day.
Also I have another question. I had hormone replacement cycle that I have to take estrofem 2mg three times a day and cyclogest 400mg pessary 2 times a day by vaginal insertion.
what is the purpose of taking estrofem? is it a psy thing or is it a must? Doctor said I need to take both estrofem & cyclogest in the first 3 months. When I found out i forgot to take the estrofem pill, it's already 12 hours from the last one. I was shocked.
May you please help me and give me some advice? Thank you so much.

I am not too sure about the kind of preg. test kit an ordinary clinic would use. You said your positive test at your ivf doctor was Monday (I assume it's 5th Sept); today is only 7th and it is hard to believe the red line was gone within 2 days. While it is still possible that hcg can decrease, without knowing a quantitative measurement (i.e. blood test), I really don't know whether this is real or a false-alarm.
Having said so, I'd suggest you tell your ivf doctor about it and see if he/she will give you another blood test.
Are you sure you are not using your natural cycle? A hormone replacement cycle starts with estrofem alone on day 1 to day 3 (i.e. when your last menstrual period began); only a few days before your day of FET you would be given progesterone (=cyclogest).
Estrofem is not just a psy thing but it is not a must either. If you had only missed one dose, no worry at all. Don't feel guilty; after FET, many women only take progesterone and do fine. Just make sure you are still taking estrofem & cyclogest as prescribed, at least until your ivf doctor talks to you tomorrow.

You reminded me. why don't I test again myself? I just tested using 曼秀雷敦. The color is even darker than the control line now.
That clinic probably used expired test kit?
Yes, I am using hormone replacement cycle. I told estrofem starting from the beginning of this cycle. And, I inserted my first cyclogest several days before FET. It's a relief to hear it is not so critical. But, I've already set alarm clock on my phone in order not to miss taking them in the future.

Setting alarm clock is good, but make sure you don't feel it a pressure when you hear the alarm :)

I did FET in June 2011 but failed. At that time, they defrost two eggs but I want to put one egg only. Therefore, they freeze the remaining one again. Would it affect the quality of the egg since it has freeze two times and defrost two times?
I am planning to do FET again and should I place this remaining one or should I defrost another tube of eggs which will be two eggs. Thanks.
Do you want to place one or two embryos back this time? If you only want one embryo for transfer, use this refreeze embryo. There is always a small risk (very small) associated with freezing and thawing, whether an embryo is going through it one time or many times. My comments based on only my experience is that a good embryo will survive even a few times of freeze and thaw. If it is a bad embryo, it will not survive the "defrost" and you save the 2 weeks of anxiety waiting for a negative pregnancy test.
On the other hand, if you want to place 2 embryos back, then use the other tube with 2 embryos.

Btw, may I ask one more question. They defrozen 4 embryos this time and only 2 survived.
Though three of them are grade 1 and 1 is grade2+, 2 of two have black spots!
The specialist said due to the black spots, they cannot survive. I was shocked. 50% of good grade embryo cannot survive! my remaining embryo are not as good grade as those were defrozen. Probably many of them have black spots????
how oftenly do embryo have black spots in your lab? seems I rarely hear frozen embryo has black spots.
why?what is the reason of having black spots? does my egg quality no good because of my age? I m 34 now. or because I had OHSS during IVF, producing too much eggs and makes egg quality bad?
I am very happy that I can hv my BB now. But I still I am curious what happened to my eggs. It will be good if you can ease my doubt too.
While many women succeed through iui, at its best iui success rate is ~20%. IVF success rate at its best can approach ~50% depending on your age and fertility background. If you are not too tight financially, I have no objection to ivf to save you some time.

I did my 1st ivf early this month and am now waiting for the result. I am 37 and my FSH is 11. The response was not good and I only got 4 eggs, out of which 2 successfully fertilized. I do hope that I can be successful this time but just in case I fail, what should I do to improve my body to prepare for pregnancy?
The doctor has prescribed me Duphaston and I also need to 塞藥. What else should I do to enhance my chance of success? Please kindly advise. Many thanks.
Yes, the public queue takes a long time. Given your age, keep trying on your own as well as doing 1 or 2 more IUI. When nothing works, don't wait too long to switch to ivf.
Sometimes 2 embryos are good enough. Although I don't have a crystal ball to foretell what is ahead of you, I have seen plenty similar to your case who succeeded; so, let's not worry about what you should do if you fail. What you can do now is easy and simple: follow your doctor's prescription and take them on time.
Other "extras" you may want to do is to be mindful of yourself. Be careful with what you eat as the Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated with plenty of mooncakes, family dinners, etc. etc. While it is hard to resist the temptation, try to eat a balanced diet, i.e. instead of totally avoiding that mooncake, having 1/8 of the cake is ok. Moderation rather than putting yourself into cravings for sweets or salts. Try to relax whenever you can, rest well, and stay positive!

I have a girl who was came from ivf. She is 2.5 years old now and I already 放胚胎 on 31 Aug. I went to 抽血 on 10 sept. My hcg is 12.3 and doc said it should succeed at the beginning but now may be failed coz I always walk around at home. She said hcg over 25 is positive. She help me 打安胎針 and check again on 15 sept. I want to know what does it means if my hcg is 12.3 and is the figure of hcg can know whether it is success or not? Thanks
It is not that bad yet; when will you have your next scan? And what are the time/days of your leave from work?
Those eggs should grow given the 3 ampoules of drugs daily (as compared to 2 ampoules). The follicles at their current stage are still small (we are talking about mm, not cm), look at a ruler to see how a 10mm compared to a 9mm or 11 mm and you will know what we deal with here. And also you need to see a follicle as a 3-dimensional structure, somewhat like a balloon instead of a 2-dimensional circle. So, when such a structure is measured on an ultrasound screen and perhaps different doctors are doing the measurement on different days, there are some small variation as well. That's why you are given a higher dose and scan again soon to see if the follicles show further growth. Your doctor probably has also done some blood tests on you; these tests will also provide clues to the growth of the follicles.
I assume you go back to the hospital to get these injections? As long as you take these injections, you will be ok. As for 雞精, there should be no harm having some (perhaps 1 bottle a day); but my advice is that do not all of a sudden take too many. More does not translate to better, keep things in check and in balance. Your current concern is to get the eggs/follicles to grow, to make them 靚d is a different issue.

Your hcg (12.3) is a little low. When an embryo keeps growing, it will continue to produce hcg. If it has not implanted and hang on, it will stop growing. So, a good level of hcg at one time point and then an increase or decrease of hcg at a later time point reflect whether an embryo has implanted or not and also whether it continues to grow.
I believe 安胎針 is an hcg injection. If you will check again on 15 sept, the hcg in the 安胎針 may still linger and I really can't foretell what measurement you will get. I hope you will have a real bingo, but I also need to warn you that don't get your hope too high. In any case, I don't think "walking around at home" can affect bingo.
