Hi,
我係 ic , long time not in this web site!
Now have a lot of new members there !!
I have ever 駁 咀 (a serious one ) to custom because he questioned me not living in US and I felt his attitude is not good (I am holding the reentry permit by that time , I visited HK 2 weeks since my passport expired so I applied reentry permit back to US)
When you go back to US, remember to bring both boarding passes, you can sure back to US with no problem.
I have ever 駁 咀 to US custom, Chinese Consulate. If you 忍 in US, they will not respect you!
Of course, now I have no problem to enter US as I am holding the US passport now.
小肥佬,
I will try to speak more Cantonese, but sometimes I can't help myself to speak English too. haaaa! You know, I am getting older and find out my Chinese is getting worse than before. I don't remember how to write some chinese words sometimes. After giving birth, it's even worser! oh! Boy! I need to read some more online newspapers to recover my memories!
Clarabb,
U Should speak Chinese to them as warly as possible if u want ur daughter to be a bilingal kid( good for their future) It won't nbe too hard for then when they are young. I think 2 years old will be a bit late for their language development. Cus when they go to school they will speak English all the time.Do uthink so? For me> I am a chinese -portuagese mixed. I used to speak portugese when i was b4 5.But as time goes by and all my frds speak cantonese and go to English school and forgot most of the portuagese. I still can understand and can't speak fluently. Kindof regrets! That's y ia m going to putmy kids in chinese class too!
Little fatty!
I think u can do that if u have the time and patience. I can't cus i have 2 kids. For ur information for chinese class. One semester ( 4 mths ) 250can.!
whalebb,
wish you have a easy operation! wish you have a healthy and adorable baby! wish you everything alright! and wish you everything good from the bottom of my heart! :D chat with you later!
Mo2,
I will try my best to teach her chinese. Is that sending them to chinese school better for their learning? I don't have a chinese school in my area, I have to drive 2 hours to get to another county for that, unfortunately! You know, me too, I can listen and sort of understand shanghai dialet but I can't speak. My family is came from shanghai and my grandma used to speak Shanghai. Well... I can't use it here anyway, nobody speaks Shanghai in this area! ha! :-P :-P :-P
Hi Pear,
I don't know about "mothercare" in Eastcoast, I know "Motherhood" is everywhere in eastcoast, your friend can search for the store location from motherhood.com. Their clothes usually is pretty good, around $20-#30 a piece.
About the baby, "Baby'r'us" and "Toy'r'us" are everywhere. You can either go to amazon.com to buy toys and baby clothes. Your friend can go to Macy, Hecht's, Sears, JcPenny. They all have children stuff. I bought my child clothes in Hecht's cos I got discount. I went to Baby'r'us to buy all the bottles accessories and crib's accessories. My baby's carrier my mom-in-toy bought it in toy'r'us. My baby's stroller I bought it in Sears. See.. shop around! These shops are everywhere in eastcoast! Every Mall practically!!! Tell her to shop online, it's much more easier! haaaa!
小肥佬,
My grandma is in Shanghai, she is 80+ years old, can't speak clear Shanghaiese! haa! I have no way to let my child learn Shanghai! :D
Do you have insurance from your hubby? My hubby's work have health insurance provided. We have to pay around 130USD for the 3D, as I remembered. However, we paid about 200USD for insurance each month for premium. So if you don't have insurance, 300USD isn't that expensive at all! I don't think insurance is really that good here, it drives up the price of everything. Anyway, nothing I can do, people can't function without insurance here! haaaaaa! :-P
小肥佬 moves is a good sign, that means he is healthy. My OB said if baby not moving much, probably the baby has some problems and that's why they preserve energy. So "moving" is good!!!
Hey, 小肥佬, do you know that "Directv" has Chinese TV to subscribe? They are "earl", you know "mo sin", but they are like $35 USD per month. It's kinda expensive. That's why I didn't subscribe it. "Dish network" has "ar" "si" you know what I mean? If you like, you can subscribe it in LA. I believe they have it there too!
CKF
Long long time no talk la! Delighted to learn that you've settled down.
100 score in Chinese, your daughter is very smart. Hope we have chance to meet in HK! Can you tell me where you will stay in HK, so I'll try to find some short summer course for your daughter.
Thanks in advance ! We'll stay at Kowloon hotel TST.
小肥佬:
My daughter's chinese class tuition is 390 for 10 months, 2 hours on every Saturday. They provide books and homework book too.
Clarab:
Talk to your kid Chinese as often and as early as possible if you want your kid speak fluent Chinese. It won't confuse your kid if you speak full sentence in Chinese or English at a time. Just don't speak half English and half Chinese when you talk. I talk and sing Chinese to my daughter since she's born. I play Cantonese and Mandarin songs and story CD every day for her. Now she can even select what she wants to listen and put the CD into the boom box by herself. She likes to watch Cantonese news every evening with me before she go to bed. She do Chinese home work everyday although she only write two rows per day but it keeps her a habit. When there is new English word on her English home work, I'll always look at the dictionary with her and show her the Chinese meaning of that English word. My daughter knows Chinese and English are 2 languages. She can differentiate Cantonese and Mandarin as well.
肥佬係自己小生意仔,所以佢都要自己交insurance, 因為肥佬肥,所以會貴d囉.另外, 未有bb前,肥佬又好似join 咗一個plan for having the bb.
