the weather in hk in november is good, cool and dry. i am planning to go to hk in jan or feb, 06 but haven't decided if i want to bring valerie along. isn't the airfare for baby under 2 and w/o seat is free? btw, do any one know when babies travel, is it that they must be accompanied by their parents? can their grandparents bring them through the immigration? i always wonder baby does change alot and the picture in the passport gets out-dated very soon, how can the immigration ppl tells that baby is the baby in the passport? ( i know this is a silly question but...)

Can I also have a look of mini-matt new hair style?? My girl has 2 times hair cut since she was born, she has thick hair on the top of her head and need to be trim often, otherwise it'll look like 日久失修, I also 求其cut, when I go hk, I'll take her to salon for haircut.

Wellcome....I also live in the bay area. Are you live in SF? I live in Dublin and we always go to SF at weekends for shopping and buy some chinese groceries in chinatown, it's really a lot cheaper there. My baby girl is 8.5 months old and I'm a stay at home mom too. I'll travel to HK with my 2 kids and hubby next month.

yeah, i live in san francisco. i usually do the chinese groceries in 'new world supermarket' in sunset, i seldom go to chinatown coz there r packed with ppl ( ppl mountain ppl sea)...so crowded oh.

our babies are of the same age

, valerie will be 9 months old in 2 days

did you apply for a pre-school yet? i did, actually i think it is way too early but my friend who has twins applied pre-k when they were 6 months old...so, i think i should apply as well for yr 2007

If I go to SF to buy food, I'll only go to 1 or 2 shops and get the things I need then I'll leave at once, usually won't park and shop there as I also don't like to walk around in the chinatown, like you said packed with people and some shops are kinda messy. There is one supermarket on Clement Street "新美華" is also quite good!

Yes, our babies are almost same age, my girl will turn 9 months old in 8 days, very close ar, what do you usually do with your girls during the day? How come you need to apply for a pre-school so soon for your girl? Like my son, he went to preschool at 3 years old last year in September and I just registered him couple months beforehand to reserve him a spot. This year, he'll be in pre-k in fall in the same school, after then, I'm thinking to send him back to public kindergarten as the tuition is kinda expensive in private school.

i go to 新美華 too but not as often as new world supermarket. valerie usually wakes up at 9:00am and then she will play for 2 hrs and take a 1.5-2hr nap, then wake up and play for another 3 hrs, then take a nap for another 1.5hr, then wake sup and play until 9:30-10:00pm and goes to bed ( hehe, sounds like a little piggy but a cute one wor ) i usually play with her, sing to her and watch her play on her own. the weather in sf is now warmer, i started to bring her to the park or to shopping mall during day time. as i said, i am a very layback ( actually lazy

) mom, so rest of the time, we will stay at home....and i go online

you know the public schools in sf really suck, lawton elementary school gets 9 points ( which is already the best in sf lah) but my friend whose daughter is studying there says the academic standard is so-so and only the honor class is good. if your daughter cannot get into the honor class, then it is just like any other public school in sf. i think i will send valerie to private school unless there is a good one coming up in a few years lah.....the tuition fee is expensive ar :-( *sigh* me and my hubby will spend less and save the money for her lor. good private school, even the pre-k is very competitve ka, i heard that ppl has to apply when they are pregnant and know the sex of the baby wor..... ?-( that is one bad thing of living in sf, school districts in the south bay are very good, most of my friends who live there send their kids to public schools

I have sent you a very long email last week/ last 2 weeks(???) after rev'ing your email regarding getting a new/used car. Don't know if you have rev'ed it. anyway, don't know if you're going this weekend... if so, just to make sure everything on the contract is right la. Sales person love customers to get extended warrent ga since they earn $$/bonus from this. My hubby said it's not really necessary to get it in LA since the milage is avarage 12000-15000/ yr. But it's really up to you if you wanna get it. If you don't mind paying a lil bit more, then getting an used car @car dealer is not a bad choice since they don't have major problems, but i personally think that if you're financing then getting a new one is better since they have promotion on low APRs

hope you'll have a happy expercience this weekend la. if anything you wanna complaine, try to call the number on the contract. complaing to manager doesn't really help ga.

hi clarab & shiba,

actually i got 2 friends @110Ib and they gained 20-22Ib during pregnancy and both of them gave birth to a 7Ib4 and 6Ib11 baby. so you need not worry too much. as long as you have a well-balanced diet, it will be fine. i have gained 27Ib when i had valerie and she weight 6Ib8 at birth.

I think I'll most likely go to HK in mid-november. Since I plan on going back to work next year, I better take those long vacations this year.

The only request I have to my husband is we need to stay in a hotel instead of with relatives. I don't think I will be comfortable squeezing into our relatives' house with Natalie. Need the hotel room to relax and I won't feel so bad if Natalie doesn't behave

You're so good...only gained 5 lbs. Regarding switching to cow's milk...my friend suggested mixing it with a few oz. of breastmilk and slowly add more of cow's milk. That's how her daughter adjusted.

I will try that with Natalie next month after she turns 1

... save me some money...I spend $150 on her formula each month. :tongue: :tongue: . If she adjust to cow's milk...I can pocket some of those money :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

we went to do the enrolment yesterday, Within US$700 per month, monday to friday, 0700-1900hrs.. over time will be charged extra $5 every 15 mintues.
Amanda cried madly when we planned to leave.. when she first walked into the classroom, she went to say hi with the teacher, and other kids, then she went to play with the cars and other things, when we called her to leave, she just pushed me and fat bear bear to leave the classroom and waved bye bye to us.. even blow us with her perfect good bye Kisses... :-( :-( :-(
How can she be so mean like that to her lovely parents!!! She is so cruel!!!!! :cry: :cry: :cry:
Fat bear bear said that.. it may be good for us, as she seems that she like that place... Now, I have to say... glad that I sent Amanda to Gymboree for that long period, she is not a shy kid at all now!!!!
I will report to all moms here.. see how Amanda copes with her school life.. ^o^ hee hee hee

. when i was about to go pre-k, my mom brought me to the pre-k's playground to play every other day and told me that if i go to school i can play with my little classmate everyday...after playing in that playground for 2-3months, my mom said i had no problem going to school, no crying, no separation anxiety.... and i think i was as happy as amanda is.

i think i will do the same thing to valerie the summer before she goes to pre-k.

有時, 我2公婆好担心, As amanda完全唔識驚走失.. 又成日扮大人話唔駛要daddy, mommy... 去到day care玩時竟然推我同佢baba出playroom外面同自己去關門... 嗰一刻...你唔好話唔hurt.. :-( :-( 我真係有小小心"up"... :-( :-(

我哋喺Amanda5個月大已幫佢攞passport, 7個半月同15個月大時...Amanda坐自已 car seat 返HK... 佢而家22個半月大... 個樣on passport巳唔同晒, but custom唔會give you a hard day.. as 小童passport 一本for 5年.. 個樣實變架啦.. 你可以去post office 填form mail in... new york就about 3weeks收到passport... 西岸幾時收到就要問 LA 媽咪.. 但我哋係直接上passport centre做快證 as 我哋只為Amanda攞咗1張出世紙, so.. 我唔敢寄唯一一張出世紙俾有關當局-->怕寄失....
About BB...你試諗吓邊有父母捨得攞自已個BB換親友個細路/唔識嘅人啲細路入美國境? so... 相有出入... 移民局accept架..
有好多父母係會叫家人做監護人帶BB出入境, 只要有信件証明就ok..
Amanda今年會聖誕前--12月中,尾返HK同公公

吹生日candle.. 佢而家日日practice吹candle呢!

我好明白你感受...因為Candace同Amanda差不多,不過冇push me out or close door.只同我bye bye. 但當時我己覺得小小hurt,本來好"痴"我的BB女, all the sudden 長大兼唔要我 :-( :-( 不過我地應該proud of 個女,獨立兼適應力
