Is it a Dell?
Seems to me it's CPU's cooling fan problem, rather then virus or overclock. Check if the fan is turning and if not, get a new one.
For Dell (and perhaps other PCs), they have a CPU fan tunnel. In fact, rather than saying it's a tunnel, better to describe it as a piece of plastic that looks like a "box" or "case" or something like that. It's function is to connect the CPU's fan with another end at the back of your PC. With this, it's creat a better ciculation for the U. Dell itself have a "trigger" which detects if the tunnel is securely hold in place. If not, above problem will surface. So, apart from the fan, also check this tunnel to see if it's secure.
