Congratulations to Elise and Matthew on their achievements, #2 is good enough la, and there's always next time ma. They're only in P2, still have plenty of other chances. Again I feel honoured to hear this good news. Hope Stephanie could have the opportunity to join the school choir next year.
Did you attend the speech day ? The percussion band's performance was just B grade in the Speech Day but A+ yesterday. I was speechless with the performance and it was really worth taking a half day off to listen to. Don't know if Stephanie like their performance in school too on last Monday ?
I agree with you too. Both speech events and vocal solo need to face the audience with expression, and it is difficult for children to handle their voice in singing when they are nervous. Elise lost her voice during the CNY holiday. She got 85 marks in the vocal solo competition 'solely' by her expression. Her teacher practised with her before the competition and commented that her eyes sang, her face sang, but 'no voice'.
For more singing practice, my daughter decided to attempt the Grade 4 ABRSM vocal exam this year. Her order of planned exam this year (we have not enrolled yet), would be piano in Sept, vocal in October and percussion in Nov.
