Just found another china book supplier on taobao http://shop34278038.taobao.com/ but not too user friendly as moondog & qzy. quite some books haven't saw on the 2 previous one and which some Taiwan chinese books too. Will try to book it today and see the quality

I go to bookfair yesterday. Yes, same as last year. Did not buy any English book but some Chinese Children Books, Receipe, Jumbo Triangular Pencils (HKD15 for 10). STAEDTLER - Scissor for Kids at HKD5.00 .

1 of the Receipe buy at Hall 2 only HKD25 with gifts: 1 支茄汁, 2 支美極, 1罐雞粉, 3包軟糖。比錢時重以為佢搞錯?-(

Watched the Harry Gou Gou's Mad Party this evening.. A bit disappointed though those primary schoolers liked it so much. Bee did enjoy it.. So, it is 'good' gei.:mrgreen:

Yi, we also watch Harry's show tonight at Shatin bor, didn't meet you tim. Yes, a little bit disappointed as not as good as last last year. My son said not much magic at this show, but he did very concentrate and enjoy

Tomorrow we will watch the Little dorkey .

I also watched the Harry's show last Sun..He really looks like 鄭中基. Maybe it's the first time to us, it seemed quite interesting and my son enjoyed the show very much..

Hi, All,

Yes, in SF still staying with my Aunt and face LL.

There was a 4.x cup earthquake this morning somewhere near Berkeley, but we didn't feel a thing. I know somebody living downtown who said she felt it.

Went out for dinner with an old classmate who also came to SF with her family. A change from monotony of staying in doing nothing except watching TV (Fire Dance Yellow Sand) every night. They are going to Yellow Stone tomorrow and will return to SF on 24/7.

Went to Stonestown (near SF State Univ) with a decent shopping mall this afternoon. There is a Borders bookshop, and piglet chose a DK Eywitness (?) book on World War I, plus a bk on trucks, 1 on airplane and 1 on fire engine. Also bought 6 Magic Tree House hardcover books, 3 for px of 2, orig px US$11.95, #29-35 minus #33. I am stocking up on this. So I only miss #33 now.

Nothing special for books. All the usual titles from Scholastic were there. "Eats shoots and leaves" selling for ~HK$200.

Bought 1 GAP sport shorts for piglet, only US$6.42 plus tax. (All px I mentioned are before sales tax of ~8.5%.) And 4 Champs UCLA Bruins T-shirts for kids, US$14.99 for 2.
So px of some items are quite acceptable. But of course better if there is discount.

I had intended to go downtown by bus with piglet, but piglte refused. Said he felt car-sick cos need to take bus ride of ~1hr or slightly more. We went downtown yesterday, and he had Burger King for lunch, kids meal toy was a talking Simpsons character - a policeman.

Will be going to COSCO warehouse for Hanes underwear and other basic items tomorrow.

We already have a problem in getting our goods to SF airport and then from HK airport back home. I heard of the chasing away of discount taxis and passenger-goods vans from HK airport, but does the HK Govt ever realise that there is actually a NEED for ppl like me who need to take a lot of luggage home ?

I can't very well walk with my elderly mum, plus ~5 - 6 pcs of big luggage, plus 4 ppl total, for 10 mins to the other car park , and the normal taxis cannot accommodate so much - or should we need at least 2 taxis ?

This is really a brainless govt

Our last resort is for us to pack as much luggage + ppl in 1 taxi, then big pig take an E bus to somewhere near home then transfer to taxi.

Otherwise we need to pay for 2 taxis.

Tks for your info re discount taxis. We finally bong-chun tlai's referral. The driver said they can provide airport --> home service as well, but with things being the way they are maybe cannot la.

B-day item is bigger than I expected, and piglet said he want 1 too, but I said no. Pls be prepared to collect from WC on Friday, maybe can have lunch.

Jun covered himself in his jacket almost through out the show, saying "我好惊呀, it's scary"?-( He only "came out" for the last 10 mins

Dear All,

We went to Lego Shop this afternoon, piglet harvested quite a lot of Lego sets.

Went to SF Zoo yesterday, stayed for 3 hrs. Quite good. There was a steam engine ride there too. Incl admission and steam engine and carousel ride, spent only $26 there plus ~$8.5 for a TY bear.

Last night we watched Miss HK beauty pageant.

Back in early March I tried to find a home-tutor to supervise piglet in homework. The tutor was a pretty girl who studied Engl in Baptist Univ. After a few lessons, (~1 - 2 lessons per week, better than nothing), she showed up on the afternoon right aftre piglet finished Term 2 Test. Aftre that she simply disappeared, did not answer our phone calls.

Last night we found out why she no longer showed up / answered our tel calls - She was one of the 5 finalists in Miss HK.

I never saw the girl, just learnt from yanyan that she was very thin, ate v little, and was v pretty. Piglet recognised her on TV.

I still owe her the $$ for the last lesson.

Will take piglet on bus / BART / Caltrain ride tomorrow. Cheap entertainment for piglet. He loves to go on rides on all the diff types of vehicles available.

Then need to pack all our harvest into suitcases / boxes on Tues - a BIG headache. Will be leaving after midnight on Wednesday.

There may be a large carton box somewhere in the garage, but need to dig it out.

Went and tried 3 "new" types of transport today :
1. Muni "Caltrain" = light rail
2. BART = KCR (went from Powell station which is where ppl queue up for cable car ride ==> downtown Berkeley; but short of time, so just went up to street level and went back down to the platform; cost for roundtrip = $6.5.
I couldn't figure out how to buy tickets from the vending machine, then a black guy came up and asked whether I could have $7 to give him after I buy my tickets. So I pretended not to understand what he said ==> he walked away. Big Beggar !!!
3. Streetcar = old style tram

The system with Muni transport (incl bus, Caltrain, streetcar) was you pay $1.5 adult / $0.5 kid, and get a ticket valid for at least 1.5hr, and you can have unlimited number of rides on anything before the time shown on the ticket.

We watched the show of Harry-gor-gor last Sat too!! Actually found not much magic tricks, looked like a musical more!! Just like bee & Tiktik, Kv couldn't help laughing and v enjoyable that night.

Kv got a straight A school report this year again (total 66 As for 1st & 2nd term)!

He attended a swimming training course arranged by his primary schoool since last week and has just switched to another group of elder student (around P3-P4) after 4 days' training. Seems to be a good sign ... hope he can be picked by the school swimming team!
