One month notice

I just early renewed the contract (contract renewed & VISA extended). Your interpretation is right, just sign the 407 contract & 1607 termination letter one month in advance (e.g. Oct 2), effective date of new contract and termination date of existing contract should be one month later (e.g. Nov 2).

I filled in all the dates on the forms (407, 988A, 988B & 1607 employer's undertaking) myself, no problem at all.

If the form is treated as 1 month notice to the maid, so why we should not put a date here?

e.g.
Termination of current contract is Nov 6
Notice of termination is Oct 6 (1 month notice)

Many thanks for your detail info. May I further ask you, and other bk moms, a couple of some related questions:

1. Did your philippino maid do the renewal herself at the consulate and at immigration? If yes, did she have to go to the philippine consulate very early in the morning? I'm thinking how early I have to release my maid to go to the consulate.

2. How many days that your maid waited to collect the verified contract from the consulate? Was she able to go to the immigration right after collecting the contract at the consulate? I'm estimating the no. of days that I have to let my maid to finish the whole process. Is 2 working days sufficient?

3. When should we pay the fees for renewal, on the date of contract collection at the consulate and renewal submission at the immigration, is this right?

4. Do you know if employer has to pay the OWWA for the maid, and did you pay for your maid?

Yes, she went to Consulate and Immigration Department herself. She left home at around 9am to the Consulate & Immigration Department. She told me that she spent 2.5 hours at Immigration Department but I don't know how long she stayed at Consulate because she went there on Sunday.

2. How many days that your maid waited to collect the verified contract from the consulate? Was she able to go to the immigration right after collecting the contract at the consulate? I'm estimating the no. of days that I have to let my maid to finish the whole process. Is 2 working days sufficient?

One week, exactly one week (she submitted on 9.21 and collected the contract on 9.28). Under normal situation, I'm pretty sure she can collect the contract and then go to the Immigration in one day.

3. When should we pay the fees for renewal, on the date of contract collection at the consulate and renewal submission at the immigration, is this right?

I paid her back when she gave me the $297 receipt by the Consulate but no receipt for the $160 VISA extension by Immigration.

4. Do you know if employer has to pay the OWWA for the maid, and did you pay for your maid?

Yes, I did pay her back that because I used to pay for that for my previous helpers. Total charges reimbursed to her was HK$460 in my case.

各位

那我想問，若我想19/10完約，那提早續約信寫19/9，我何時應去入境處辦手續呢？是否就算我在19/10前去辦(如10/10去辦)，新約仍是在20/10開始才生效呢？入境處是否即日便可取回visa？

Hi Becky:

Would you mind to tell me how many hours that your helper spent at the consulate on Sunday? My maid said she can't submit her contract this whole morning even though she was there by 9:30am, there were many many ppl so she left the line.

Fanny: Yes, you can go there on Oct 10 and new contract starts on Oct 20. Can be done in one day for the VISA extension (Immigration's part)

Daisy: As I said before, I didn't ask my maid how long she stayed at Philippine Consulate but unless the Consulate announces quota is full for that day, otherwise why should your helper leave? I think once they start working, queue should be gone quickly because only submission and pay. Simple task, should be quick. Yet, as far as I know, if Consulate receives too many contracts to be verified, pick up time will be 2 weeks instead of 1 week. Mine case is one week only, payment receipt will show the pick up date.

我個工人係今年先黎,做左４個幾月,如果做提前績約有無著數呢？(可以慳番３期tax唔洗比！)

1) 係咪要照計番7 days Annual Leave,and return tickets for mymaid? (如果要,可唔可以而家就叫佢放左7日大假先呀？tickets就補錢算呢？)

2) 有咩要再做過？Visa個到係咪要再去辦過呢？

3) Insurance,係咪又要cut左再買過份新架(因為好似跟contract)？

4) 仲有咩要注意,要佢簽番名作實咁呢？

I think 7-day annual leave should be on pro-rata basis, that means should be around 3 days for 4-month service.

3) Insurance,係咪又要cut左再買過份新架(因為好似跟contract)？ No need, same employer, same employee, same policy, just need to renew upon expiry.

2) 有咩要再做過？Visa個到係咪要再去辦過呢？4) 仲有咩要注意,要佢簽番名作實咁呢？ You should read from the first message of this topic and you should have better idea how to do it.

re new contract issue need help !

Need some help on this regarding for renew contract issue.
The maid been work with me nearly 1 year. My 3rd levy will need to pay on 26 nov . suppose I still have enough time to renew it .

-Wonder in my case is there any agreement need to sign with the maid such as
annual leave ( actually I have cleared with her early this year
) , salary … ….
Any sample letters ? Suppose she only have 7 days AL . for one year contract finished

-Under law the maid need to exit HK once within a year , is that a MUST need to return to original place where they from ? I heard lots of ppl say they only send to maid t macau / china . Is that ok to do that ? Will the immigration officer wont approve for the next year visa extention ?
My maid don’t want to go back to PH she say too trouble to doing this she told me her friends just go to macau .

-I know I need to bear that exit HK fee for the maid , wonder if she only work for me for a year do I still need to give her a ticket to PH ? suppose in contract
for 2 years- maid can have one ticket to original place they came from .but I choose ti renew contract earlier do I still need to pay for the one ticket for her bk to PH ?

我想請教一下, 如果想提早續約而我今期levy應該將於11月12日到期, , 我是否只要係lee個日子前入form去入境處, 而响封termination letter上寫返一個月前已簽訂嘅日子便可? 定還是我e家做都已經太遲喇....唔該哂!

1. 您如依家搞,您都係要寫番依家個日期,唔會太早架.
另您所有日期都唔好填,去到IMMG先,佢地職員如要您填您先填,我個張就係職員填上的,咁樣最好.

3. 住戶資料一定要填,剩係LEVY個度唔駛填.
4. 呢個我無為意喎,因IMMG一定只會比一年VISA期您工人,但我記得您係要寫理由的.
