hi everyone,
something would ask for pinion:
my daughter starts to red herself, but she always ask me to read for her even she already know it, sometimes after a whole day work, this is really demanding for me. do u think she is lazy to read herself? but sometimes she would pick books up and read herself.
You would read the Chinese books in PTH or Cantonese? As my daughter's kindergarten is having PTH for CHinese, but my PTH standard is not so good, this puzzles me.

Aiya, I don't think your daughter is lazy. She just enjoys reading together with you. Even if your daughter can read by herself, I suggest you still squeeze a wee time to read together with her (even if you are very busy).

In fact, I am a working mom. my daughters can read by themselves but i still insist to read aloud to them as I have time. It's another way of learning for them. It's good kids to be able to read by themselves but they still need time to read together with parents, esp if they are still below age of 6.

Just read a few books a week for them is good enough if you don't have time.

當然與懶惰無關啦!! 小孩就是喜歡聽你為她說故事, 享受那種親子時光; 我相信你不在家時, 她自己會看書, 你回家後, 小女兒希望聽聽由媽咪口中說岀的故事, 想想她一邊看一邊你說, 幾享受!!

she is exactlt like what you sad, she read herself when i'm working, when i just back home, 就成堆書等我講, 有時我仲要扮鬼扮馬, 近來超喜歡 "stickman", 我重複扮stickman 好嬲咁講'I'm not a mast of the silly old flag!"然後佢就笑到 ga ga 聲.

after reading this post, i bought a lot of books from dangdang which are good to read with my child. Now he & me read books everynight. Dangdang is really a good place to pharse books.

my daughter reads books everyday by herself (she is 3.5), however, sometimes she reads really quickly. so one day i wondered if she did read the words or not, but everytime when i asked her the names of the characters, she could actually answer me correctly, but i really don't think that she can read that fast, any simular cases?? besides, while she can read, i started to worry about her creativity, because when kids can't read on theirown, they will always make up stories according to the pictures, but it never happens to my girl... sigh....

My daughters also like Charle & Lola books & DVDs.

And many other books of Lauren Child are also good reads for kids.

which JD book you are referring to?
