How are you? I am doing well. My in laws return to HK today.... feel kinda sad.
You should wait for sale to get the strollers and carseat. They usually have sale for baby stuffs in September. I agree that the choices and price of baby stuffs are much better in US; however, the regulation standard for carseat is a little different from US than Canada. I heard that it is illegal to use US carseat. You'd better check with the police department or insurance company.
It would be good to buy strollers from US though. I think there is a Graco stroller set which is a little lighter.... Metrolite one. You can go check check.
My friend lent me her Evenflo infant carseat, then my sister lent me her Peg-perego one. I would say Peg-perego really worth the money. The quality of the material and easy of use override Evenflo. Remember to get one that can adjust the tightness of the harness in the front. I find it very useful especially the weather change so much here; your bb may wear thick cloth in the morning and thin cloth in the afternoon; easy to adjust the harness would save you a lot of hassel.
Oh...your inlaws returned to HK? Yesterday Jun 12? My sister may on the same plane with your inlaws!! She departed yesterday morning. I miss her very much!! She is my only young sister, and we are very closed.
Thank you for your tips!! I will wait until the sales on Sep. I still have time...no rush no rush!! Thanks for reminding me that the safety standard may be different between US and Canada. I was wondering about this issue too because the style and colour of the stroller and car seat are different for those in US. If the standards are the same, the brand doesn't need to make the difference. I will check check my insurance company and the police website. But honestly, the US prices are very attractive!! So many things need to buy ah...have to save a lot of money for my BB!!
yes, they took the aircanada plane. they are in HK now.
Actually the standard of Canada is different, like the same carseat could be sit until 40 pounds here, but US allows up to 48 pounds. something like that. Also there may be brand that not fit in the Canada standard but passed in US standard.
Don't wanna talk about them anymore...hav to face everythings myself from now on....but i guess i can make it...since im so lucky that my family has given so much support to me...^^
ohh relliii..since i never hear someone's NT is 1mm that thin...so im jz so worried if this is abnormal...i still hav to wait until 16wks to hav my ips 2...da second blood test in order to get my result...i hope everything is fine.................
i guess #3 is really good for me...thanks so much i will call and ask for more details...thanks so much...and i might join #1 as well...since i wanna get more information^^
so bad that you sickness came back...maybe you should take more rest that will make you feel better....

i do a lot of reading after i kno im pregnant...and im so happy to hav this baby actuli...^^hope both of us hav a healthy baby^^
I am now checking babies stuffs website almost everyday. At Babies R Us, one of the travel systems of Graco will be on sales starting from tomorrow...it's $80 off. Very attractive!! I will go check it out!!
Besides, I will see if I have time to go to Dear Born Baby this weekend. Go browse around and check prices!! I really want to get something done before my tummy getting bigger and bigger. Now I can only wear my sport/yoga pants. Most of the jeans can't fit anymore lu!! p(^n^)q
No need to "thanks" so many times la!! I am glad that you are interested with those classes!! Both of us are first time moms, I think we better learn something before the babies come out. Honestly, I am a bit worry that I don't know how to take care my baby!!
Really? We can order a guide from government? Thanks for telling me wor!! I will order it anyway no matter it contains only simple stuffs. I registered with Pampers, Nestle Baby, Babies R Us...they give out free samples and coupons. Check it out!
yes, You can check check... personally, I don't like those travel system because the stroller is pretty heavy and end up you will just use it as a carseat carrier. Because when your bb is bigger, it is getting heavier, you won't wanna bring such a big stroller around.
Actually check out Dear Born, they sometimes have Peg-perego stroller on sale that you will find affordable.
I went to Dear Born last Friday. So many stuffs over there, it's a bit messy!! The Peg P3 is 10 lbs lighter, it's very attractive, but too expensive...$369.99, plus the car seat $299.99...it's a fortune!! They only have 2 P3 on sales. The cheapest sales one is $279.99, but no car seat for it...so has to go with the regular $299.99 car seat. Ai ya...very hard to decide!! My husband only like it because it is lighter, other than that he seems not very interested.
We went to Babies R Us again to check the Graco Travel System. $299.99 for the whole set. It is heavy, but the stroller is easy to be folded. I never can figure out how to fold the P3...stupid me!!
We still have a week to think about it before the sales ends. Honestly, we feel more like to go with Graco because $299.99 vs. $579.98 is a big difference!!
would any mom give me an idea which baby swing is good? I am planning to buy the baby swing for my friend's boy...
I saw from the web, they got graco, Fisher price and eddie bauer
any comment and suggestion? my budget is around $200 (tax included)
Hi doggie,
How old is your friend's boy? I never use baby swing but I saw the hospital is using it to clam baby. I have a rocker chair which I think it is better in terms of money value.
I pick rocker chair rather than swing as it can use it when the kids are older. It is up to 40lbs and we can use it as a chair in order to feed baby when he/she is young. Besides, the rocker chair is good for new born and Nick is very happy to sleep there whole day. I dont need to use battery as I can easily rock him when I am watching TV or eating dinner.
Or you can find other comments from here : epinions
Just for your information, swing is about $100 while rocker chair that I have is about $50. Personally, I like Fisher Price as Graco is good on car seat and stroller.
doggie,
Do you know if your friend has any specific brand/model prefer? If not, I think Fisher Price has better feature as it swing in different way, left/right and front/back. Baby likes that swing feeling as it is similar to be inside mommy tummy.
I didnt buy swing as it is expensive and the life span is shorter. From Graco website, it recommend up to 18lbs for bouncer and baby can reach that weight in 6months time. Do you know if your friends has big baby?
$279.99 for P3 stroller is a great price. Actually you don't really need a Peg-perego carseat to fit. I think you can use any brand carseat on it. Think about an infant carseat only use up to 9 months or maximum 1 year. However a good stroller will last for may be 2 years old. You can get a P3 stroller plus a Graco carseat.
Sorry, I didn't do any research on baby swings...therefore, can't help. But I would suggest you to check ConsumerReports.org which has few articles to guide people how to choose a suitable swing, and it has some recall reports on some of this products.
Here is the link:

Hope you can find a nice gift for your friend's baby!!
ahbocat,
I bought a Peg Perego Venezia stroller from second hand and it can fit in Graco snugride carseat. Personally, I like that stroller very much. It is made in Italty and the wheel is so much to easy to move around.
As Poohpoohmama said, car seat will only last for less than 1 year and it is not worth to buy expensive car seat as it is not much different unless you are on the road all the time. For me, I rarely take my baby out for long.
For stroller, I suggest you to buy a good one. I like Venezia model and it is reversible. That feature is very good for new born as you can avoid for direct sunlight. It is slightly heavier as well as bulky if you compare with P3.
Really? I never thought about any car seat can fit in Peg P3. Different brands usually have their own locking tools...Graco car seat locks on the stroller's children's tray, and Peg car seat locks on somewhere else.
Let me try try this weekend sin! Thanks for your tips!!
Congratulation for the birth of your baby!! How are you? You feel okay?
If I choose Peg, P3 is my only choice because of the light weight. However, my next concern is our snowing winter is long. P3 wheels are very small, they work smooth on clean ground, but seem not very reliable on slippy road. I will go out very often with my baby...at least has to go "drink tea" with my parents and my inlaws every Sat/Sun.
Peg car seat is about $299.99, definitely I will not consider. But now PoohPoohMaMa tells me that some other car seats may fit in the P3...I can think think again.
If I can't find anything fit in the on sales $279.99 P3, I will give up with Peg.
