I&IMOM: thanks for reminding. Well, I guess the competition remains keen, but not sure. I just want eggegg to be a 'TAi wan' (= majority) person la. In fact, P.1 performance is not accurate and does not reflect the whole picture. For me, given the near one-dragon promise, no need to push too harsh now la. Like civil servants, do has 36, not doing has 36, I choose to do 24--still above average la.

Actually pressures come from parents la. For me, i never phones eggegg's classmates to verify this and that. Eggegg has once and twice forgot something, then she immediately learnt a lesson--more effective than I to be a 日夜常哦. My purpose is to let eggegg to learn from mistakes. Just glad to know she can now pack her own school every night after homework, and makes no mistakes.

YEsterday asked eggegg to revise Eng dictation (first time) and gave her 2 choices: copy the vocab or pre-dictation. Eggegg counter-proposed the third option: do nothing.

I know if I 拍抬, she will do whatever I want. But I choose not to do so la, cos too many years to go, and let her 'plant the banana first" Then I can have solid reason to order her this and that.

Well, for the tests and exams, just do what I can do, and to see which method is the most effective but cost lesser effort lor. I hope to give her some sense of responsibility and 意識--every exam and test needs revision. This morning, she sits for 2 hours (7:30-9:30 am) to revise this and that. I ask her to stop and watch TV for a while, but she chooses to revise maths (combination of 2-10). I did not ask for this, cos no hurry for maths wor

In fact, her main purpose is to use those 90 new excercise books la, whose format is = GHS's (10 squares for Chinese, 12 lines for Eng and 20 square for maths). Those for KG of larger squares are discarded at eggegg's order. Hope eggegg's attitude can be consistent. As u know, eggegg is aggressive la, and she does not want to perform worse than her 'good sister' la. But I guess her first Eng dictation should be much worse la. Let see and i am waiting for the chance to 插 her, like what she does to eggeggba--為插而插.

BTW, if eggegg does well for this test, I can skip the exam wor, cos GHS follows EMB's suggestion--inpute absence instead of 0, and test mark will not be divided into 2. A good bet wor cos test's syllabus is less ambition than the assessment.

I&IMOM: Boston has reformed itself "no 3 no 4", so not quite comparable with sammi lor.

The question has been solved long time ago wor in BK: 'in the tree' ---tree = the extent from root via trunk up to the leave at the top. If u say it is in the tree, can mean the bird is inside the trunk, on the branch covered by leaves, etc. U can use 'on' when u say the bird is on the top of the tree. Just recall from the discussion earlier. When eggegg comes across, I will check this up, lazy ma

Maybe this explanation is wrong cos the experts are still debating the use of this type of prepositions. Like Chinese pronounciation, correction in recent years la. Or maybe I recall wrong, cos eggeggba says 'on the tree.' So what is your answer?? I am now a bit confusing after asking eggeggba. BTW I am just a history teacher, not english la. hehehe

Just come back from the parent meeting. The tone and philosophy of the principal and class teacher sounds identical with what I am doing now and put down in the last long message. But still find pressure---from the classmates' parents, as reflected by their tone and their questions. Finally understand why pauline.c finds pressure in BK. Luckily, I seldom see these parents and I am quite stubborn in some ways.

I&IMOM: IC. But are u sure the worksheet is correct, cos the quality varies wor. ?-( When eggegg comes across the same question, better ask eggeggba la.

Glad Isa can accept this type of schedule wor. Kung hei.
On the other hand, GHS at this moment sounds better than I expect. Yesterday meeting, eng teacher said their first dictation was only vocab and simple phrases, e.g., seven robots, beautiful doll. She says some get zero, and is very normal for the first time wor. For CHinese, only vocab so far. Last night also mentioned context of the assessments and tests, quite similar to SC format for the first 2 attempts, e.g., questions for Gen Studies will be read out. Teachers also assure that the notice and syllabus will be distributed beforehand lor.

So far I am quite lucky, as I just receive call from one parent who just wants to verify the homework, cos her girl is still not able to complete the handbook. eggegg's good sister is not that lucky, keeps on receiving call asking the grade of the worksheet, etc. Remember there is a lot of worksheet and it is only the first month wor. ?-( Later I 8 that this girl come from Ah So's KG, and so may have transitional anxiety (from mother only).

For the coming test, I expect around 70%--that is eggegg gets around 70% knowledge. If she gets 100%, very difficult to keep. And she has no incentive to work hard later :cry:

on the other hand, eggegg has fewer homework these 2 week, 4-5 only, maybe test is coming. ?-(

a joke:
eggegg says it is better not to get 100 for the tests, cos she can do correction and learn something
