dear cutecutetown,
as i m using natural cycle for fet,no any medication is used.but 2 embryo was transferred this time.
其實TWINS既生命力係咪強過單胞胎,TWINS係咪都有可能出現空心胎??
希望今次有好消息給你,謝謝你一直以來的解答,我既疑慮都減輕左好多
At this point, it is still a little too early to tell whether one or two embryos have implanted. Your ultrasound at ~5-6 weeks of gestation will confirm the number of fetus(es).
Each implanted embryo will produce HCG (the hormone of interest in bingo tests); in other words, if you have 2 embryos implanted, the HCG amount will be approximately 2 times higher than with only 1 embryo implanted. However, there is not a reference value of how much HCG should an embryo at any given time point should produce. Therefore, I can only tell that you should feel safe and enjoy the happy moment for now. To me, your bingo is looking strong.
There is a chance of a "vanishing" twin, i.e. 2 implanted with eventually only 1 live birth. Again, knowing this fact doesn't mean that you have to start worrying; the knowledge helps you to keep an open mind instead of making you panic along the pregnancy.
I'm 24 years old. I did a surgery to remove my right"tube" in april2010, n my left tube is blocked also. My only choice is to do IVF to hv baby. I met Dr So for the first consultation last Thursday. He explain me a lot about risk that might hv n so on. As his suggestion, He will only put 1 embryo instead 2 ( what other women will do normally for ivf), cuz he said I'm still very young, n there is risk to carry twins if it's really success. Me n my husband wanted kids since we married in 2008. And I am a dancer n dance teacher. It was hard to do both.I will need to stop dancing once I decided to to ivf. So I really hope I can hv a sucessful treatment in one time. Wut advise u will give?? N my blood circulation is not really gd, sometimes will feel dizzy. Or my blood pressure is low,I'm not too sure. How can I make myself more health to carry baby? My treatment should start very soon once my period come in this month. Thank you for ur time!!
I will have to agree with Dr So that you should put 1 embryo back only, at least in your very first embryo transfer (ET). Any extra embryo can be frozen for later use. Suppose you will fail this ET (hope not), then you can discuss with your dr to transfer up to 2 embryos. You are very young compared to many of our day-to-day clients and it is very important to proceed safely. Afterall, it is not just to give you a positive pregnancy test; we want you to be a healthy mother taking home a healthy baby.
Does your dizzy feeling happen often when you were still dancing? An easy thing to do is to tell your ivf doctor and seek his advice whether this will affect your ivf cycle. Checking blood pressure or general body check-up can also be done with a general doctor (and perhaps with a referral to get a thorough body check on e.g. blood glucose, cholesterol, liver function, kidney function, cardiogram) if you are concerned.
Hi cutecutedown,
I have one daughter who is 2.5 yr. I want to have 2nd BB , so I did my 2nd ivf on Aug but the hcg only 12.5. Finally, it failed. Yesterday, I just put the other 2 embryo but dr said my 子宮膜 only 9mm thick which it's better to have 10-12mm. Will this affect the result?
I discussed with at least 2 different doctors some time ago about this endometrial thickness issue. They both said that anything above 7mm will be ok. So, although you don't have the "perfect" thickness, you look fine. I hope the 2 embryos you transferred were of good quality.
Hi, my friend has tested hcg 14 days after only one (day2 ) embryo transfer. It is almost 700. The max is only 4xx. How come the figure is so high? Is it possible other than twins or molar pregnacy? Thanks

She may be getting luteal phase support?!

My understanding is that there is no "max" hcg at a given time point.

Yes, there is no "maximum" for serum HCG level (i.e. measurement from blood sample). It is not possible to tell whether the pregnancy is singleton or twins until your friend is due to do her ultrasound scan, usually by the 5th-6th week of gestation.
Do not worry if the brownish discharge was little and had stopped. Nobody knows why. You may want to believe it's "implantation blood"; however, during the embryo transfer procedure, the cervix may be scratched with minor bleeding, which could have also accounted for this brownish discharge.
Whichever way it is, you should be fine and stay optimistic. Good luck,

I 放胎 on 7 Nov and check hcg on 17 nov ( it should be count as day 10 or 11?). The result is 19.7. Dr said need to check again the hcg on 25 nov to reconfirm. Is this time means success? Dr said if hcg is 25 that means success. 19.7 is very high chance success. What do u think? How many hcg means ok when 25 nov?
Thanks
Shirley
For embryos (i.e. counting embryo age), 7 Nov was probably day2 or day3; so for me the lab people, we often call the embryo transfer a day-2 ET or day-3 ET because this day refers to embryo development.
On the other hand, for counting gestational age if a woman is pregnant, day-1 is her 1st day of her mestrual cycle. To generalize and simplify things, we can call the day of ovulation or day of oocyte retrieval as if it is day-14 of a menstrual cycle. In IVF/FET, the day of checking bingo usually falls onto day 28-31 of a cycle. Therefore, when your first hcg test is a bingo, that day is usually equivalent to about 4th week of gestation.
Now, the above is just to generalize things for those reading this post. For you in particular, 19.7 is really difficult to conclude. You will definitely have to check on 25 Nov to re-confirm. If the embryo is "behaving", the hcg should be around 100 or more.
Good luck & I look forward to your update!

Today is the 12th days after my Embryo transfer, I found a little pink secretion after going to toilet. Is my IVF going to be fail? I was asked to go back to doctor for blood test on 25/11. Do I need to check it myself now and call the clinic for my case? I am always bed rest now. So worry and please kindly help.
HCG is Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (人類絨毛膜性腺激素). It is the hormone of interest when we talk about pregnancy because it is measurable, either by urinary bingo kit or by blood test. A healthy embryo compatible with implantation is able to produce HCG; the more the embryo grows, the more HCG it produces, and therefore we can detect its level in urine or in blood. Sometimes, HCG is also given as 安胎針.
Depending on the day of embryo development, the day of implantation (著床) usually happens around day 5 to day 8. You can't really feel anything whether the embryo implants or not, although some women claim to see "implantation blood". Don't get overly anxious about feeling and seeing anything.
It is very stressful, and likely useless, to check bingo everyday. As explained above, if the embryo is compatible with implantation, you still need to give it time to produce HCG to a detectable level. I won't suggest you checking until 10 days after your day of 放胎. I don't recommend taking Chinese medicine during the time from 放胎 to bingo test.
If your period won't return in the next day or two, you will do as planned -- see your doctor on 25/11.
If you only have brownish spotting in between now till 25/11, you may call and see what your doctor may say. However, if you have full red bleeding, then the embryo didn't implant. I hope you won't be too devastated and don't give up.
Since you have bingo once, you may want to try 1 or 2 more IUIs first. Many couples can be finanacially tight going straight to IVF, and IVF in itself can be more demanding than you think.
My suggestion is to try 2-3 IUIs in a row within a short time -- meaning... don't wait 6 months or more in between IUIs. As for your hubby's sperm, don't forget that his "差O既形態" still managed to get you bingo. Miscarriage can be due to many reasons and sperm shouldn't take all the blame.
If within the next 6-8 months you won't get bingo again, IVF with or without ICSI depends on your centre. Many private centres simply offer ICSI straight, but some do offer IVF alone. A true scientific decision for IVF will often include sperm concentration and motility into consideration rather than just morphology alone.
