My son only weighted 21lbs when he checked up last Saturday. When he knows how to walk, he becomes more active and doesn't like to sit down. Maybe this is the reason that he gains little weight.

hihi, nice meeting you. how many babies you have and how old are they? i am a stay-at-home mom and have a 9month old baby girl called valerie.

next week, after the 9-month check up, i will start making congee for valerie....maybe i will try salmom congee as little fat man said mini-matt likes it too. valerie not only spitted out the congee, she also threw up all the formula that was fed to her earlier, just like mini-matt :-(

Thank you so much for sharing your experience :wink: :wink: :wink: As you advised, the doctor said to give her as much liquid as possible including pedialyte. The thing is, I think I gave her too much pedialyte before bedtime (7oz.) and she vomitted it out. I only wanted to give her 4 oz but she started crying when she finished it up...so I told her daddy to get refills....hai~~~big mistake~~~
She was able to hold down some plain congee and bread...but since the congee was so tasteless even w/ salt, she only ate a few spoons. I will keep giving her water/pedialyte for tomorrow and maybe try a little rice cereal. Hope she gets better soon....

Also, it might be easier for you to dress the baby with the front-buttoned one piece jumpsuits (long sleeves and covers feet). They are by Carter and very inexpensive. I've seen them on sale at bbrus for $16 for 2. The onesies might be hard to dress at first becuz you have to put it over the baby's head. But once you get used to it...it's very easy and comfortable :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

If you plan on having a 2nd child, I think it's better to have them close together so they can be pals.

Better sacrifice for a few years instead of starting all over with babysitting in the future. My hubby and I are happy with Natalie. I told him we can revisit the issue (2nd child) before I turn 35...by then...Natalie will be in elementary school

I really want to get back to work first.

Hope Natalie gets well very soon. My son has a cough in these few days. I hope he is ok too. He will have eye surgery in the coming Monday. If he catch a cold, the surgery will be postpone.

I agree with you. However, if I have two children, it is difficult for me to get back to work. Anyway, I would like to have another one, child is a great gift from God.

我的仔出世後又是常穿one piece包腳前面扣鈕的長袖衣服，不過, 你要留意鈕與鈕之間會不會有大的空隙。後來, 天氣熱, 我喜歡幫他穿onesie, 肚子又不會入風。有些onesie的領口較大, 不太好。盡量買些在膊頭有鈕的較好, 又易穿, 領口又不會大。是啊, 你的預產期是几時啊？

（１）計算排卵法

使用計算排卵期的方法，最少要在四個月前開始計算及測試．正常來說每個月體溫最低的那一天就是所謂的排卵期了，由月經來的第一天開始，每天早上起床馬上測量體溫（注意：在沒什麼動作前測量才是最準確的，如不可說話，伸腰，轉身翻身，總之不要作任何大動作之前），低體溫約持續２星期左右，之後你會發現某一天體溫會突然出現新低點，然後便回升，高溫期亦會持續２星期左右，直到月經再來．
你需要準備一個每0.05度便有一刻度的體溫測量器，因為上述所謂的高溫低溫相差很少，變化約在0.1度至0.4度之間．

想生女寶寶的話，在月經完後馬上密密做，直到排卵期的前２天，做最後一次．之後的約５天左右夫婦便要禁慾．因為代表女寶寶的ｘ精子，可以在女性體內生存超過２天，而在排卵期的前２天做最後一次，是因為２天後，即排卵期，卵子排出，這時候代表男寶寶的ｙ精子已全部死亡，所以生女寶寶的機會便大大提高了．

（２）食療法

用食療法來控制生男生女，由古至今也有不少人士認同的方法，當然絕對不是百分百的準確，但參考一下也無妨．以下是想生女寶寶的一些食療法．

＊生女寶寶要吃酸，從科學角度看是因為食酸的食物，會令女性體液的酸度提高，代表男寶寶的ｙ精子就有如被癈功一樣．

＊大魚大肉，多數生女生．
其實也有根據的，因為在男性的精液中，含有豐富的蛋白質，由蛋白質組成的精子黏液，進入母體跟卵子結合，由於吃大魚大肉食物的男性會吸收很多的蛋白質，令精子的濃度提高，射精後，代表男寶寶的ｙ精子在濃濃的黏液中無法快速游動前進，所以未到卵子就已返魂無術了．
而相反，代表女寶寶的ｘ精子由於耐力持久，可以慢慢的花一，二天的時間慢慢游，所以大魚大肉的男性生女寶寶的機會就大大提高了．

What a coincidence, I'll also bring my girl to check up next monday. How do you weight her at home? I think the most accurate way is go to the doctor's office. Sometimes I'll mix some cereals into the baby food, how do you measure 2-3oz? Do you use a formula spoon to measure it? My girl haven't grown any teeth yet, maybe just like my son will grow it after 1 year old, people said it's comes from heredity. Is there any difference between concentrate and powder formula (eg. taste and texture)? My girl had tried out all the brand here but none of them she likes so I ask people to mail over the japanese brand formula, but I found out she still not very fond of drinking, so probably afte the trip i come back from HK, i'll let drink the US brand formula or switch to whole milk after she turns 1 year old.

I'm thinking to bring her to Gymboree playgroup after I come back from HK, probably when she is about 1 year old. How about u? Looks like many moms here highly recommend Gymboree very much. There is one in Pleasanton and San Ramon which is pretty close to my place.

i usually hold valerie in my arm with all her clothes off and weight lor, then subtract my own weight to get her weight...it is pretty accurate, the weight i get at home is the same when we do it in the doc's office. you can try try. we are going for the checkup next monday at 2:30pm... dont tell me you got the same time as well, hehe

. i still remembered she got 5 shots in a row when she was 2 month olds :-( :-( :-(

usually i put 2oz of formula and mix in the rice cereal into a thick consistency. after mixing in the rc, it will become 2.5oz lor...hehe i measure like this.

as for the formula, the taste is different for similac, enfamil powder and ready to use/concentrate. the liquid form tastes better. my husband studied chemistry and he said the powder cannot fully dissolved in water (diff from ready-to-use and concentrate) he insisted giving liquid form formula to valerie coz it is easier to digest, and baby will be not get constipation that easy and less 'hot air'. anyway, valerie doesnt like the sample formula powder that was sent to me for trial ( i want to save siusiu money mah, hehe ) but when we give her the ready-to -use, she loves it. when valerie was 6 months old, we started to give her concentrate coz there are flouride in tap water which is good for her teeth but...valerie has no teeth yet

you can try enfamil lipil concentrate, they have it in baby'r'us, 3.99 per 13oz can, pretty good price. let 智仔 mui mui try try, maybe she likes it. i will give valerie formula as long as possible coz it is better than regular milk for baby, i think hehe. my friend is giving her son who is 4+yr 1-2 glasses of formula and 1 glass of regular milk a day.

i have cut 1 formula feeding and i started to give her nestle good start2 instead with more calc, iron, protein.... , hoping that she will eat more solids. tonite she drank 27oz formula and ate 2 oz of rice cereal mixed with squash.

, how long will u be leaving this time?

i will check out gymboree playgroup next week, there is one in sf which is very very close to my place, just 3-5 min drive.

my friend's girl had been there since she's 1, but she's quit when she's abt 2. she said the classes are too boring for her now and it's fun at the beginnings only.

i just brought my boy (2-yr-old) to the first trial class for Gym-explorer. he only partipated in the parts that're interesting to him; otherwise, he just went away and played by himself.

i supposed to bring him to Gymboree playgroup when he's abt 1-yr-old. however, it happened that it's a holiday when we were there for the first trial class. since then, i was too lazy to bring him there again (going out w/ him is really a battle to me).
