hello everyone,
long time no write tim... yesterday there was something wrong with the internet connection at work...
Tsznok,
hope your baby will feel better soon!! I guess our babies' immune system is not as strong as when they were smaller... have to be careful!
you mentioned about the chair Hymn Hymn was sitting on in the picture: yes, it's the Bumbo. I got it from Mothercare. I find it quite good bor cause Hymn Hymn hates to be strapped in regular highchairs or car seats but with the Bumbo, there are no straps. the weight of the baby will naturally holds him in the chair and he cannot get out from it himself. and it's very lightweight. you can take it anywhere with you! I also bought the Combi highchair but Hymn Hymn does not like it very much. I guess it's because he does not have very strong back support yet so he can't sit very well on it. I think he will like it more as he grows bigger...
Bobo1,
Your baby is really very cute!! She does look very chubby in the pictures wor. I would love to see your pics when you were small, too!! My mother digged out my baby pictures last week and Hymn Hymn looks SOSOSOSOSOSO much like me, too! It's really funny!!
how's your baby's appetite these days? Hymn Hymn can finish 5-6 oz of milk per feed now. I'm happy! he had 24-25 oz of milk each day in total for the past 3 days!! but I haven't given him any cereal recently. I think I will wait till after he goes to see the doctor next Wed for his 6 month injection. The nurse said the doctor will teach us how to feed him solid.s I tried giving him some carrot puree before though and he likes it very much! I made it myself. it's very easy to make: just steam the carrots and then mash it with the hand blender. I haven't given him any fruit juice though. But it is a good idea wor cause they can get more vitamin c from it to boost his immune system I guess... well, I will wait one more week.
btw, tomorrow is Hymn Hymn's 6 month birthday!!
oh Cherry-min,
Hymn Hymn has got the same ball as your baby. It's from Chicco, right? he likes playing with it very much!
Aeson,
thanks for the instruction about uploading the pictures... I will try it later. Hope I can do it lar.. too busy these days tim...
ah, I have another question: do you let your babies sleep on pillows?? Hymn Hymn hasn't been using any pillows since birth but my mom said he should... what do you think? ?-(
Hi googoo,
thanks for the information. I really like the new picture of baby Lucas! Did you take it yourself? are you a photographer? I noticed that the angle you picked for your pictures is always very interesting and artistic! btw, what brand of camera do you use? I'm using Canon Ixus digital camera but I find that it's not very good. the image taken is not very sharp sometimes and it's quite slow! Do you have any good ones to recommend?
Tsznok,
good to hear that your baby is feeling better!! I feel that I have a flu coming down on me... bad sore throat and feeling a bit dizzy as well. I'm very worried that I may infect Hymn Hymn... I just went down to Mannings and bought some Vit C tablets to take... what to do?
Bobo1,
don't worry lar... your baby will be back to normal once her teeth are out! is she really very thin in person? Can I also ask what brand of camera you use to take pictures with your baby? the quality seems to be very nice ar and very focused!!
hi marshmallowchan,
Thanks so much. Yes, I took the pictures myself but no, I'm not a photographer -- the pictures just happened to turn out nice. I enjoyed taking pictures when I was a teenager (ages ago) and am just picking up the old habbit again. I'm now using the DC of the same brand as yours - Canon - Ixus 400. Actually Canon is one of the rather good ones on the market already.
A few tips that might help you:
1. Avoid using flash -- Canon's flash is too strong and it gives an unnatural look to the picture.
Try using natural source of lighting as often as you can. Put your baby closer to the window, or turn on all the lights in the room.
2. Since you are not using flash, the camera will use longer time to take one picture, i.e. it uses 1/250 sec to take picture with flash, but without flash it might be 1/50 sec to 1/25 sec or longer. If you have shaky hands or the baby is moving all the time, the picture will always be blur. Try changing your camera's iso to 200 (default 50 or 100) in the manual mode, this will help but the quality of the picture will reduce a bit -- it gets complicating, if you are not sure how to do it, bring the camera to the party on 9 Oct, I can show you.
3. The composition: put your baby off centred. People tend to put their subject of the photo in the very centre of the picture, by putting the subject a bit to the left or right will make the picture more interesting. -- I read this from an article written by a photographer -- and it works for me.
Excuse me for being long winded, just think that since we all will takes lots of pictures of our little one, hope this information could help all mommies here.
thanks Googoo!! let me try again... will sure bring the camera to our gathering so you can show me some tips!! do you have more pictures of Lucas to share with us?
