I remember you were once mention about 'Costco'. Can I ask you something about this store? Becasue I have never visited this store but I am now considering if it is good or worthy to join?!
Do you think the goods there are much cheaper?
Does it sell everything including grocery e.g. food to clothing in a lower price?
how much is the membership and do you think it is worthy to join?
Have you joined it?

我以前有costco card的，現在就用我大伯張card啦，其實costco係唔係好多野買就見人見致啦，有些人就話好抵，有些就話唔係咁抵，因有時超市d食物都買一送一，那麼當然超市抵啦，不過costco有些東西出面係無得買的，所以你要自已計數啦 我比個網頁你自已睇啦，有唔明再問我吧

Many thanks for your reply. At 1997, I get 3 passports for my family.
My daughter aged 4 . I wish to know whether her education fees are free . I am told the rental costs in Glosgrow is 100 pounds per week for a 600 sqaure feet bedoom. I wonder if there is any places nearby
Will be cheaper. I do not mind to live in a remote area as long as The living costs are really low.

the living cost is lower in the north in general. but also need to see which area u are living in. Usually if the area is cheap in term of rent / house price, it will not be as nice, (ie more teenages around, more theft, anti-social behaviour and etc)

this also imply that the school in the area will not be as good.

so if u are really planning to come here for the sake of yr daughter's education. u need to go for some area which is not too bad.

Glosgrow is cheap in term of renting but at the same time, its not as good as other city in the country. there high unemployment rate and etc. having said that, I am sure there some nice place in Glosgrow too. u just need to look round for nice area (which might be cheaper)

if u want to live in the south (not london), the rent u are expecting to be £600-800 (minimum) per month. for a 2 bed flat.

I used to live in Newcastle, I personally think its quite nice and relatively cheap too.. but of course u need to look for those nice area (estimate £600 can get u a nice place to live in Newcastle) this is just an estimate as I move out of Newcastle 5 years ago.

I went to see the consultant and will do another scan next week to monitor the grow of the baby...

I have pregency Chinese medi from the dr. I will start taking it and see if it works...

I have many fish maw here. I will drink the soup more often. As for the pregency milk, I will go to boots to see if they have something like this. I don't mind to gain weight as long as baby is healthy.....

Yes, my hb's family is still paying lots of tax to UK government!!! My hb used to pay tax when he was working here as well!! But UK government now is very cheap cheap. They try to find way to get more $$.

My BIL needed to pay overseas fee for Uni as well as he was in HK for high school even though he grow up in UK. I have asked my hb's Uni if we can appeal. The Uni said yes but will suspend my hb's course....

My hb said if we knew he needed to pay overseas fee, we rather go to US as the living cost is lower.

我聽講現在牛津和檢僑大學都好衰架，如果本地學生成績和海外學生成績一樣的話，會收海外學生架，因收海外學生會有多d收入，但本地學生就要蝕本喎 總之英國現在越來越衰啦，遲下都唔知讀中學和小學的政府學校要唔要收學費添呀！

haha..... I haven't been to the Japanese restaurant in Marriott.... actually, we don't think it's worth to spend so much in Japanese food here. I prefer to eat more in HK or Japan (if I have chance to go there again...).

My hb loves Japanese food. I used to travel to Tokyo for work once a month. My hubby went to join me occassionally for few days only for food.

Yes, we will go back to HK for good on July but I think we will buy one way ticket instead of return. Since we don't know when my hb's graduation will be, we can buy the ticket yet...

If you go to HK in July, I think Yatjeh won't mind to organise another gathering

But the taxpayer has paid tax!!!
Even thought I haven't paid any tax here, my hb's family used to pay a lot.

My FIL has retired at his late 50's. He said there is no much different for working or retirement. He has to pay lots of tax if he's working!!! Therefore, he would have about the same level of income for retirement.

Yes, the best Japanese food is in Japan and in Hong Kong. Also, when you lived in Japan for few years, no resturants can compare with Japanese resturant there.
