Kang Ha Neul didn't even have the money for a taxi ride home after a night of drinking
Kang Ha Neul has come far in his career, having upgraded to a bigger living space after being holed up in a closet like home and no further need to walk 20 miles anywhere because he had no money to catch a taxi ride.
On the February 17 broadcast of 'Radio Star,' Kang Ha Neul received a question from a fan which went, "I heard that you lived in a 5 pyong (~178 sq ft.) home so all your gifts [from fans] wouldn't fit but is your home bigger now?"
Kang Ha Neul explained, "I moved to a place that's around twice as big. I went to a place that's around 10 pyong (~356 sq ft.). Housing is really expensive." Kim Gu Ra insisted that Kang Ha Neul is just being humble, which got the actor all flustered. He quickly replied, "I don't make that much."
The actor also talked about a time he walked all the way from Ilsan to Gangnam, a distance equalling a total of 32km (~20 miles). He said, "Back when I was in college, I didn't have money for the taxi so I tried to walk to Ilsan after having drinks in Gangnam. As I kept on walking, I was at Hannam Bridge, and it took me around five hours to walk all the way to Ilsan."
It's hard enough walking 20 miles on foot but to walk 20 miles on foot in a slightly intoxicated state? You the man, Kang Ha Neul!
