thank you for your tips! the nurse gave me a paper this morning, it said it will take the whole morning for first time check-up. did you take so long time?? do you think i will have ultra-sound this sat?? if i can have us, that's cool, i can see my bb again. but, i know, in govt. hospital, not everytime use us.
ricfa, QE has arranged US scanning for me at my 20 wks of pregnancy (a fairly critical time to check the normality of foetus). I think you will receive it at 20 wks too. I didn't have US scanning when I first visited QE, just taking blood samples for testing of German measles, AIDs ... etc. without seeing a doctor. Instead a nurse will ask you questions about illness history of your own and your family. Have you told the nurse that you have done any blood tests in private clinic? If you reply no, govt hospital will do the test for you. If you say yes, no blood test will be provided. Perhaps they will take blood from you this saturday. Last time a doctor student took blood for me, she was quite stupid and nearly made me fainted, coz she took too much blood from me and then I suffered low blood pressure, could not even stand up. Suggest you to eat breakfast and drink some warm water before that.
