Hello cutecutetown I just had my embryos transferred. I was full of hope I can put in 3 embryos but only 2 embryos are ready in good grade (1 grade 1- and 1 grade 2+). I wanted the 3rd embryo to be put in but just couldn't cos it's not ready. The rest of the 6 embryos now till to continue to grow for another few days and see. Based on your experience what do you think about my success chance? My gynae from Victory Lab said 2 is not and especially good quality 分裂到 8-9 cells, it might have a chance to bingo both if 3 embryos all go bingo need to do reduction.
Thanks,
Kakakaju

Very good, and I hope you may have 1-2 more embryos to freeze on day 5.

Seen it before, but we will check again in 2-3 days to see if the level continues to rise.

Thanks cutecutetown my heart is still very unease as I was hoping to try have twins. But with only two embryos this is unlikely going to happen. I don't even have confident to have one bingo. Please pray for me do you have any patients like me have 2 embryos with 分裂to 8-9 cells and managed to bingo still?
If you were to come to my lab, I would also transfer 2 embryos only. (Of course, the decision will also be based on your age, your fertility background, and your wish.) I think I have recommended 2 for you all along this post.
When transferring 8- or 9-cell embryos, especially for 1st-time IVF and also for young patients (say <38), their bingo chance is very high and twins are not uncommon. While I don't know a lot about you, putting back 2 embryos is the safest decision that balance success chance and risks. If these 2 "good" embryos can't make it, there is no point to put an extra 3rd one in.
Having twins or higher-order multiples is not as good as you think. Be happy with what you have, and try to relax for the next 10+ days. Good luck & all the best,
cutecutetown
How many days were there in between hcg measurements 36 and 95? I think you are ok, the level roughly doubles within 2-3 days (from your post of 35 to your yesterday post); that's what we expect from a "normal" pregnancy. Although ectopic cannot be excluded, it is unlikely. Based on my limited experience, the rise of hcg is not as rapid in ectopic pregnancy. Did you return to your doctor to check? In about one more week or so (5-6 weeks of gestation, or 1-2 weeks after the official pregnancy test), fetal sac should be visible by ultrasound and that's when things can be confirmed. In the mean time, try not to worry yourself and be optimistic.
Best wishes,

Hi Cutecutetown Im age 39 yo (turned 39 4 months ago)my gynae from reproductive healthcare centre wanted to help me put 3 embryos just that the 3rd one is not available. While I've a jm from BK told me not to look up too much ob twins as the pressure is huge just that I thought 一次攪點 but I think for my case now my wish is to have one bingo. I'll be back to clinic tomorrow as gynae needed to check my uterus. Thanks again!
I have some silly questions in mind and would like to seek your professional advice.
Background:
I have only 1 tube and 1 ovary as I had salpingo-oophrectomy done 5 yrs ago. Last yr, after a few cycles of CC and still not conceived, Dr recommended had HSG to me..... and found my only tube is blocked. Btw, no PCOS.
Questions:
1. Say for an example, if a normal woman can have 10 eggs retrieved, am I going to have only 5 as I have only 1 ovary... assuming other factors (such as health conditions, age, responsiveness to the medicine and etc) being equal? I know that this is a very silly question and it's always hard to tell. But still hope that u can give me some views.
2. As my BMI is 25... and overweight, would this affect my chance of having a sucessful IVF? If it is, any quick reference for the optimal BMI range?
3. Some of the JMs in BK suggest that accupunture could improve the blood circulation and thus a better chance. Do you think so? I feel that my circulation is not that good.
To be honest, I am not sure if I have omitted simliar posts that raised by other JMs before... Hope you don't mind answering me again, if some other JM have asked before... Thank you in advance. Cheers :)
1. Yes, assuming all things equal & you have now just 1 ovary, you should theoretically get half the eggs as compared to having 2 ovaries.
2. Obesity affects fertility, too fat or too thin negatively impacts pregnancy chance. I think normal BMI for Caucasians is in the range of 18-25; for Chinese, I've only heard it is ~16-23. You may google BMI and see the range.
3. If you believe in acupuncture, you may try & see. I think what you need to do is to lose some weight. Many studies showed positive effects even if you only lose 5 lbs. I have to assume that you don't have other metabolic diseases that cause your slightly higher BMI. If you can start by watching what you eat & control your diet a little, then also pick up some light exercises (e.g. 20-30min brisk walk after dinner), 5 lbs within a month should be easy for you.
Hi cutecutetown I've been to gynae tonight, my uterus wall thickness around 12.5 and my uterus is clear like cloud white. Gynae dont think I'd need extra med except continue to 塞藥day n night plus the last 安胎計on Sunday. He'd recommend I go back to do blood test on 16/4. I tried to see if gynae can tell me bingo chance but he said he cannot as he cannot guarantee anything.
