I really like your picture with "throwing up blood" !!! Describing our situation totally when it comes to making our kids study for their exams properly!!!!
Before we realize it, the exam week has passed! Because no.1 will change to an IS this summer, we were actually more relaxed than we should. I originally planned to take a couple of days off to my no.1 to study. At the end I just let him move on with whatever. Some of the results are known already, not too bad afterall, but the weakest subject has not been revealed yet....Chinese. Let's see.........
Me too...no.1 said his Chinese is either 70 or 73...actually already a lot better than last time (only 60), Eng is 95 but his school is Band 1 so I think the competition is high. Probably he will be in the mid-range of the whole grade.
I should be relaxing and enjoying but because no helper now, we're covering these duties daily and it's driving us a little crazy now.
Do you have any referrals on part-time local (ah yi) to help with housework? We're thinking of getting some help for the nights (starting 7 or 8pm) on dish washing, cleaning, clothes washing and folding etc. What advice or experience all moms may have??
Hey my no.1 is also very careless...apart from copying with mistakes, he can't even see the mistakes when I point them out, right in front of his eyes!!!! Oh my..
I can only keep or maintain his interests in reading. At least he enjoys a lot reading CHinese too (can't read Chinese books until P3, but starting reading Eng books from 5). Do your P5/P6 boys like those "Kam Yung" stories? Mine is crazy about them!
Anyway we're all waiting to see how to STRATEGIZE the P5/P6 examinations...well if you recall actually I'm escaping from it all now, since No.1 is moving to an IS this Summer! Hooray! But the teachers and socal worker have warned us to be careful about now giving him a freer environment....so we need to plan for a meeting on this before new school year starts.
Nol.2 is also starting with new school for P1 after summer, so these days we're already very busy with parents info sessions.
