my BB is also very tiny and he actually fell off all the lines on the growth chart for a few months. He was confirmed to have food allergy when he was over 1yrs old when the doc told me to give him some egg white to try before having the 1yr old MMR shot. After some testing, he was confirmed to have severe allergy to egg white and peanuts and mild allergy to milk.. so we changed the milk and now he is back on the chart.. but still very tiny.. but at least he is on the chart.
Everyone thought he was not a great eater, but actually he is allergic to the food he eats. While he was still in the hospital, he had bloated stomach and was stopped feeding many times because they were scare he had NEC. now to think back, he may have the bloated stomach because of the breast milk i pumped for him cause i did drink peanut fish soup (which was suppose to be good for the mother and BB).. and I drink milk everyday. No one would hv thought he was allergic to my milk.
So if you are breastfeeding, you must be careful of the food you are eating. The doctor will not think he could hv allergy unless you have a family history (however, ours family have no history, that's why no one was aware he was super allergic!) My friend's son was allergic to fish and everytime my friend eat fish, his son will have bad rashes and diarrhea which was passed thru the breast milk.
I'm still testing on the food my son can eat cause he is not a great eater and still have eczema.. but at least it is better than before. I still need to +oil to help him. You +oil too!
