Yes, our babies now are very active and naughty, move and move, climb and climb, walk and walk. STOP-LESS!!!

Anita, hayhay is as heavily as ur little princess bo, but I already used to hold her la so my arm didn’t get pain after the long CNY holiday. Did Charlotte let her father to hold her. Hayhay only let me to hold her at night time ga, but she likes to play w/ daddy at day time.

I always think that hayhay looks like a boy, but recently I find that she like to play”煮飯仔” ar. Cook and cook then feeding auntie and mami. Very interesting ar. She also like to push her “learn-to-walk” trolley around the home. W/ the trolley, she can reach every corner loo.

BTW, I’m very sorry that I still not finish the post-processing of the video and album of the 115 gathering. I hope I can finish it by end-Feb. la. Pls forgive my lazy.

【 本 報 訊 】 香 港 是 國 際 大 都 會 ， 精 通 兩 文三 語 將 有 助 學 業 及 工 作 等 發 展 。 不 少 家 長為 求 提 升 子 女 的 語 言 能 力 ， 過 早 為 子 女 營造 雙 語 環 境 學 習 語 文 ， 如 刻 意 以 中 英 夾 雜的 詞 句 對 話 及 聘 請 外 傭 等 。 有 語 言 治 療 師警 告 ， 本 港 約 有 十 一 萬 名 兒 童 患 有 語 言 障礙 ， 混 亂 的 語 言 環 境 反 而 會 阻 慢 兒 童 的 正常 語 言 發 展 ， 得 不 償 失 。 　

記 者 ： 陳 倩 雯 語 言 治 療 師 朱 嘉 麗 接 受 訪 問 時 表 示 ， 正 常兒 童 在 一 歲 至 一 歲 半 期 間 ， 已 可 讀 出 中 文單 字 ； 一 歲 半 至 兩 歲 更 可 道 出 由 兩 個 中 文字 彙 組 成 的 詞 語 或 句 子 。 如 兒 童 的 語 言 發展 階 段 較 為 緩 慢 ， 即 可 能 患 有 語 言 發 展 障礙 或 溝 通 障 礙 。 她 指 出 ， 一 成 兒 童 有 語 言障 礙 問 題 ， 以 本 港 有 一 百 一 十 萬 名 十 五 歲以 下 兒 童 及 青 少 年 計 ， 估 計 本 港 約 有 十 一萬 名 十 五 歲 以 下 人 士 患 有 不 同 程 度 的 語 言障 礙 。 她 又 稱 ， 語 言 發 展 緩 慢 的 原 因 ， 除 包 括 患有 自 閉 症 、 智 障 或 弱 聽 等 先 天 性 問 題 外 ，也 有 不 少 是 受 到 混 亂 的 語 言 環 境 影 響 所 致， 「 十 個 語 言 發 展 慢 小 朋 友 ， 有 兩 、 三 個係 受 到 語 言 環 境 影 響 。 」 她 解 釋 ， 一 至 三歲 是 兒 童 學 習 語 言 的 起 步 階 段 ， 若 在 此 時已 同 時 學 習 兩 種 不 同 語 言 ， 即 容 易 產 生 混淆 ， 尤 其 是 家 中 有 外 傭 的 兒 童 ， 「 如 果 成日 中 英 夾 雜 ， 例 如 『 kiss （ 吻 ） 媽 咪 啦 』， 會 令 佢 覺 得 好 難 分 辨 中 、 英 文 ； 而 如 果成 日 講 英 文 ， 又 可 能 令 中 文 吸 收 慢 。 」語 言 重 應 用 朱 嘉 麗 警 告 兒 童 語 言 發 展 能 力 緩 慢 ， 影 響表 達 能 力 時 ， 或 進 一 步 對 日 常 學 習 、 社 交及 心 理 造 成 負 面 影 響 。 所 以 她 建 議 家 長 切勿 過 早 讓 兒 童 在 雙 語 環 境 下 學 習 語 文 ， 「三 、 四 歲 先 上 班 ， 識 字 都 OK 。 但 如 果 兩、 三 歲 時 見 佢 學 習 語 文 比 人 慢 ， 就 應 該 先學 一 種 語 言 先 。 」 家 長 也 可 教 導 家 中 外 傭講 廣 東 話 ， 如 一 些 比 較 常 用 的 詞 語 ， 如 「飲 」 、 「 食 」 、 「 俾 」 及 「 衫 」 等 。

朱 嘉 麗 指 出 ， 家 長 過 早 讓 子 女 觀 看 學 習 語文 的 動 畫 教 材 ， 也 不 一 定 可 以 提 升 子 女 的外 語 能 力 ， 「 其 實 睇 VCD 或 者 DVD 去 學 語 言唔 係 咁 適 合 ， 因 為 語 言 係 要 應 用 ， 但 係 呢 好 貴 VCD 或 者 DVD 面 語 言 ， 好 難 套 入 日 常生 活 中 ， 未 必 可 以 學 以 致 用 。 」 她 建 議 家長 在 兒 童 兩 至 三 歲 才 開 始 讓 他 們 觀 看 這 些教 材 ， 並 陪 伴 在 旁 作 出 指 引 ， 才 能 達 致 最佳 效 果 。

My uncle's kids also able to speak comparatively slow. His elder daughter around 3yrs and his younger son around 2.5yrs. I think which was due to they rec'd 4 different languages since they are born.

How many kinds of language did yu yu receive?

For Charlotte, she is now able to said 2 kinds of words, such as "car", sometimes she will say in English and sometimes she will say in Cantonese. We start to let Charlotte to watch the DWE since she was 8.5mths old.

And I already compromised with my hubby when Charlotte is around 8 mths old that I will talk to her in English and Daddy will talk to her in Cantonese. It seems alright so far. As she can understand both now and giving feedback to us accordingly.

However, I think it will be worse if people talk to them in a bilanguage in one stence e.g. English + Cantonese version (such as pao-pao), which I think it is not the proper way. And may affect their talking ability as they may rec'd too much signal at one time and mix them together. So, I will try to push my Mum to talk to her in a full English sentence. If she did not know how to say, said in Cantonese in another full sentence.

Anyway, it is not hurry ma, as dd104's recent message, as long as they will be able to say the single word b4 1.5 year old, it is still alright.

Dear all,

Should we have another gathering in the coming Easter holiday (i.e.25-28 March)? Let me have your preference, and I will make the reservation.

I have just attend a function in Telford, the place is alright especially they have a playground for kids, therefore our kid can play in there after our gathering (If you want to preview the place, you can click into my photo album underneath).

Date : 25-28 March (to be confirmed)
Cost : around HKD100/ adult & HKD80/ Child over 3 yrs old
Place: Kln Bay Telford Recreation Club.

Yes. I agree with u. I always give Ying Ying see DWE from her 7months and 2 things happened recently......

A week ago, I gave her see DWE again, when the song "up and down" started, she immediate turned to me and hold me. Coz' I always hold her up and down and turn around & around during the song. Another thing made me very surprising. One day, we bought a new DVD and test it by DWE, just open the sound without video on TV, when a song ended in silent, Ying Ying pronounced "Up and down". This is the song will start after the silent. I'm very surprising she can pronounce the song name as I think she haven't learnt to talk sentence. And she can remember the next song is "up and down". Very surprising~~~ After that, I always play with her by courting no. one to ten again and again (in both eng. and mandarin). She looked carefully to my mouth. I think she is learning again although she can't talk at this moment.

維維仔都未識講野呀.. 成日有講野但吾知佢講梗乜既.. 出左9隻牙.. 我都有d擔心佢係咪遲左說話... 因為佢個表妹細佢4個月已經識講好多單字啦.. 有比較自然更擔心.. 仲有佢依然吾肯坐啖罐

Very sorry that about the CDs. Since both the PC of my home and office were breakdown at the same time, so I can't finish it on time. Pls forgive me. I will try my best to fix it and hope it can be distribute in the coming gathering.

Dear all 0401 bb club mama,

We will now confirm the Easter gathering date to be on 25 March 2005.

As it needs time for the club house to make the preparation for us and we need to reserve the room according to the number of attendance, therefore the last day for the application will be this coming Saturday night. Please reserve your seat by 12 March 2005.

其實我係04年11月的媽媽，想請問下你地的bb穿幾多號的波鞋？因朋友買左一對puma的波鞋比我的bb，我希望到佢一歲大時著，想知應該mud size(UK or US)，謝謝。 :-P

Hayhay got 9 teeth la. 一隻大牙. 成日 "走來走去", 做o左我o地family's 管家. 帶佢去clubhouse 玩仲同你玩捉迷藏.

佢不停食, just finish congee, 又要包包, 餅餅.

佢又會同我傾計, 當然係佢明我講, 我唔明佢答mud la.
