Really learned a lot from your sharing in BK, first of all, thanks for your help to all who are desperate to be a mom like me.
I did IVF in Taiwan and was just confirmed by blood test on E2. P4 and beta HCG that I am not pregnant. This is my 1st time.
I am 37 years old and is definitely the fat type (BMI:29.1). All through the procedure, the doctheor said all are positive, from the use of Gonal F, to egg drawing procedure, 13+ eggs were drawn and 11 of them were fertilized. Upon embryo transplant, he put 2 inside me and 6 of them were frozen. All the way, the Dr said the chance is good and all result were better than his expectation. The only worry is I am over-aged.
1. Based on the above, the reason for my failure, is that because my inability to let the embryo著床? Is it because of overweight, so not enough space for it to embed? or is it because the thickness of the uterus? Will it help by drinking more milk or 花膠湯?
2. Weight loss will definitely help, right? any BMI standard for my reference?
3. The dr said I can try FET the next cycle, if there is nothing change in my body, it will still be failed, right? As they have already put the best 2 into my body.
Sorry for being long-winded and thanks in advance for your advice.
Although you are not yet pregnant, you still have 6 embryos frozen. We might not have picked the "right" embryos out of the 8 available embryos. Don't be too frustrated.
1. It is difficult to isolate the reason for no implantation; but usually it's the embryos more than the uterine environment. Did your doctor say you have thin or thick endometrium (uterine lining)? (I asked because you mentioned about thickness of the uterus.) You may have some milk or 花膠湯 if you want, both should not do any harm, but I have not seen its benefit in women with thin endometrium. Being overweight could be a concern, not because of "not enough space", but more of a physiological concern where hormones are not as balanced, metabolic activities may be disturbed, etc etc.
2. Weight loss helps, but watch out because you should not lose too much over a short time. Scientific studies showed that even losing 5 lbs has some benefits (on getting pregnant). If you can lose about 1-2lbs per week starting now, by the time of your FET you could have lost at least 5 lbs.
(For Caucasians, normal BMI is 18-25; for Chinese or Asians, if I remember correctly, it's ~16-23.)
3. As mentioned in many of my previous posts, grading is based on morphological assessment only. Embryo appearance is not everything. I have seen too many patients who don't get pregnant until their very last round of FET!
Have faith. What you need at the moment is to recover from the failed cycle, lose a few pounds, and get ready to transfer frozen embryos as advised by your doctor. Stay optimistic!

Thanks a lot on your professional advices and comments. As both the IVF doctor and the Chinese EC said my rate is quite low based on my age (32 with FSH below 8), so actually feels little bit upset on this results.
Then why the injected ovums cannot be fertilized?
Anyway, thanks your comments and will try my best!
I often say/explain in too simple terms that they don't make a good match. While I don't want to go into biological details, there are times when the sperm is placed inside but it is defective to trigger fertilization; at other times, it could be the inside of the egg (cytoplasm) not ready or not receptive.
Hi cutecutetown, 我27/3 d1,2/4 d7連續五日打排卵針,7/4打破卵,平時cycle24, last cycle iui failed cycle 31, since some reasons I need to know bingo or not before saturday, do u think doctor can help or not?

There is nothing to do with your last iui failed cycle. What do you want to know now?

Hello Cutecutetown - I am full of disappointment, I did blood test this morning then went back to office and saw a stain of pinky red blood smaller than my last finger nail. When I go vv and wiped I see pinkish creamy stuff. Then I called the nurse and asked her not to test the blood cos maybe my m is coming soon and surely it's failed the IVF. The nurse insisted should still check and see. I was thinking then my m will come soon as even it's one day date as my last m is Day 31 and today is my Day 32. My m hasn't properly come and even I have napkin on I don't have any droplets of blood coming out only when I wipe sometimes I see small chases of pink spot not even red. I am now like end of the world!

You still haven't got the blood check result yet, have you?

Not yet cutecutetown but no need to hear from the doctor I know it's failed....as about one hour ago when I go vv I can wiped blood. Though it's not flooding blood coming out but I can determine that it's failed myself. How can I succeed, if succeed I will not see blood just now. It just proved that it's really fate whether IVF can be a one time bingo or not. Though I believe my condition including eggs were good but surely age is a killer in my case.
I am so LOST dunno what to do next, should I try the frozen embryos or just give up in full?

If this cycle fails, go for your frozen embryos; they are good enough to qualify for freezing!

It may be just spotting, or brownish to very light blood discharge. Your clinic should let you know.

Hi Cutecutetown - just got another worst news in life, the blood test is negative. I asked the nurse if they can explain to me the reason for this failure, she said no reason to explain maybe the embryos didn't intact. So I was asking the nurse if I should go back to see doctor, she said wait till my period really comes.
Can you tell me if I am using my frozen embryos, do I still need injections etc? Or should I just wait till my ovulation is over and then put these 3 frozen ones inside me? What are the steps? I no longer have faith on whether it's grade 1 or grade 2 embryos cos the grading really couldn't determine that I can succeed.
It's a big big hit on me especially putting hope that IVF is better than IUI and the success rate is better but the result on me shows it's not working either. Thanks
I am sorry to hear the sad news. In most of my posts I tried to emphasize that not all embryos can become babies and some of them don't even implant. There is always natural selection at work, and consider a young woman only has ~20% chance to have a natural conception, ivf has overcome some hurdles in offering women with different backgrounds a slightly better chance. I understand jm's have gone through plenty of physical & psychological "roller-coasters" with ivf treatment, but we are still far from perfect to achieve that 100% which everyone would love.
If you have regular periods, you can use your natural cycle to do a frozen-embryo transfer. Once your period comes, you can consult your doctor, who will then time your ovulation and plan FET for you. Remember to call when your next period comes, NOT when you ovulate.
Just a few posts ago, I wrote the following:

While I still cannot guarantee a baby, at least I hope I can walk through the process(es) with you so that your experience is not as rough & unpredictable. Best wishes,

Thanks cutecutetown I sleep couldn't settle yet my unhappiness and have once thought of given up on my frozen embryos I'm not sure if I've lost faith on the doctor or myself. I just don't think I can cope with this last trial of my three frozen embryos. Though I've only tried for 4-5 months it's like a century as the deliberate failure drives me to the downturn.
I'll still call the clinic tomorrow, my period kinda of came but not the usual
smooth flow. I do think deep down if I'm to proceed and continue trying Ivf I should try in one stretch than to wait? What's your advice? Should I ask my frozen embryos grading? Should I also consider taking DHEA and CQ10? I'm not sure if they'll help or not?
I will start FET on May...
I am failed ivf on march .. My period was come on 30/3... I think my next period will come around 1/5.... For normal and regular menstruation period... Which day maybe the date of FET?
Because I am on shift duty... I am pending when request day off... ( I need to request the duty 2 week before)
So I am very confused how to arrange ... Maybe I only can take sick leave .... Also... My job sometimes need to take a heavy thing ... If I only have few holiday ... Which day is the most important day for me to rest after FET .... Thanks a lot
I know you feel very frustrated, but don't be defeated. It is ok to feel bad and be very unhappy; afterall, you have been through a lot and have a certain level of expectation. I would suggest you take some rest while waiting for your next period to come, which will probably give you about a month to recuperate and come back stronger. By "taking some rest", of course it consists of physical rest, but also you should take your mind off from thinking over the past few months of experience and trying to blame something or someone or yourself.
It is also ok to take 2-3 months "off" if you don't feel ready for your frozen embryos. I don't think you should give up just yet. Knowing the grading of your 3 frozen embryos will provide a reference point, but remember that the grade is a morphological assessment only.
DHEA or CQ10 are not helpful in frozen cycles, although they are not harmful either. If you want to take them, consult your doctor first.
I suppose your frozen embryos were of day2 development, right? The date of FET will depend on the length of your usual menstrual cycle.
EXAMPLE ONLY: Suppose your next period comes right on 1/5 and you have a 28-day cycle, your FET date will be approximately 16/5. There is just enough time for you to request time off.
I suggest you wait till day 1 of your next cycle and only request day(s) off on that day, just in case your period shifts a little. Even so, we are still guessing on the day of ovulation and therefore the day of FET. Your doctor will ask you to check ovulation day or may give you ultrasound and blood test around the time.
Implantation takes place around day5-8 of embryo development. Although you may take some time off around then to rest, practically you do not need to do anything to "facilitate" implantation. You may just work to keep yourself occupied so that your mind can't think too much. I am not sure how heavy you may have to carry; is there any man around to help just in case there is the heavy work? Be nice and ask his help :)

Being in the ivf field for >10 years, I hope to help in a discussion format any of your questions or ...
Thank you for your help.
Everyday may not be good..but there is something Good in Everyday!
Thanks cutecutetown I was not able to meet my gynae last night but spoken to the nurse in person that it is quite difficult to tell patients the successful rate of IVF. During my IVF cycle there were patients at the same IVF process as me who got bingo but there are patients who only succeeded during FET. There's no probablity to say which one is higher or lower.
I guess at this point I must accept the reality is cruel and if I ever go on FET don't put anymore hope on it, though we know IVF costed us heaps of money but is only a hope. Maybe I am being disguised by how I see celebrities being able to bingo via IVF but I don't know how many times she has failed before she goes bingo.
As for vitamins I guess I better not intake something which I am not certain whether it will help or not, I will start some mild exercise back and keep my mood swing back up to positive and see when I am ready with FET.
