cos I am considering to let piglet take it in 1y's time too. His piano teacher asked me if I wanted piglet to take G5 exam next yr (for S1 admission), told her that G5 shouldn't be of much help, would rather get the Theory exam done with first.

I've got the new Genki card too, I mean the new physical card, so don't need the old one lu.

You know I will not hak hei ga la. Last Sat I went to a TL shop and found the papers, $44@ set !
Didn't know that the theory exam can be taken in Chin nowadays.

For the purpose of getting a used ticket to meet some school-based award scheme we had to attend a cultural function, so went and bought tickets for "The Mozart Effect" by HKPhilOrch. Bought tickets for Tsuen Wan concert, v cheap. Going with friend + son who also has to attend a concert. Hope its good.

Any idea where I should go for Trombone lessons for piglet ? He knows how to blow and uses the proper instrument for Marching Band now, so might as well take regular lessons. He says it is quite easy work and prefers this to eg saxophone, but I think Sax sounds better, eg Kenny G :lol .

And I heard of a tuition centre where some parents send their kids, the kids' academic results can show significant improvement in 1 or 2 terms. So I asked for the tel, but then learnt from one kid who now goes to the centre that the kids there are ordered to do their homework within a certain time (with alarm clock set) and if they are off-target they get smacked (with permission from their parents) !! Then they are given some extra suppl ex, and if they have lots of mistakes they get smacked again ! Then have to do corr and re-corr, until they get everything correct ! Tuition time is from 4-9 pm, Mon - Sat. but tuition fee is cheap, only ~HK$3,xxx per month, dinner only $6xx pma ja, of course food is not good.
I wonder how many kids there become crazy afterwards ! The parents who send their kids along are also terribly crazy !
I told piglet about this centre, and he said he will take trombone lessons so long as I don't enrol him there !

He then behaved better in mummy tuition centre whole day yesterday.

Some bad news for twin :

Bionicles will be OUT. (Maybe he should just play with any Lego in general and not conc in a series, cos the series will all discont sooner or later).

"Official: 2010 will be the last year of Bionicle. An announcement was made today by LEGO's Global BIONICLE Director, Jan Faltum stating, among other things, that "the six BIONICLE Stars launching in January will be the last BIONICLE sets for the foreseeable future." You can read the full annoucement at Brothers Brick.
So, what do you think? Good or bad news?
- Bad, because without doubt Bionicle has provided a steady revenue stream for LEGO for 10 years which during the bad times of the mid 2000's helped keep LEGO afloat.
- Good, because, frankly, for the last 3 or 4 years they have been lacking innovation and becoming boring: running out of ideas is probably one of the main reasons for the decision.
The annoucement goes on to say that "The LEGO Group will debut a new, more flexible buildable figure property" next year, and I don't think they are talking about Ben10 because that is mentioned separately, so it will be interesting to see what that is."

Yesterday I ng sik sei, tried to upgrade my notebook from Vista to Win 7, but of course failed and in the process deleted Bluetooth, then in the process of trying to resurrect that I wiped out the entire Vista op sys haha !

Must take the notebook totay to the sys co which looks after the system for my office, and ask them to do it for me.

And seems that Kaspersky doesn't have a version for Win7 ?

I did have the past papers for 2006, 2007, 2008 with the answer books. As for the theory graded book, I didn't buy the new ones but just used the 5 textbooks which I bought 10 years ago when I taught my husband. But I have checked the contents which is exactly the same as those updated ones. I'll pass them onto Bluestar for photocopying 1st then to KL. For the Gr4 and 5 textbook, since we ran out of time and I did not take the photocopies for Rachel's use, I'll try to erase her writing and see if it's ok for you to take copies.

Hi BS,

Yours is a notebook. When you buy it, you should be given a set of recovery disks. So, the recovery disks do not work??

You are so brave to upgrade. You know, I am quite risk aversive. I even hesitated when I upgraded my Acrobat reader...

BTW, did you check email? It's so big. Just wonder if it could get through to you.

I didn't know what I was in for. Collected the Win7 disk last Fri, and big pig was busy this past week, only grunted when I told him I collected already, and piglet kept on urging me to upgrade cos it would be better for playing computer games.

What are "recovery disks" ? :lol

I handed in all the disks I found to the tech person just then, he took the notebook back to his office to deal with it.
That notebook is vvvvvvvvv heavy ! Not really a portable notebook, more a notebook-shaped desktop PC.

I think all files arrived safely, total 9 files. File size not too large ja woh. The max I managed was sending out ~13 files of 1.xM each.

With the 3 hours sleep last night and a day of meetings, finally got free and quiet time to come up to say hello (and thank you to BS for paying the book $ for me to GN4) in Manila.

some more events going on this month, keep on busying. To keep Jun occupied during my busy days, I've did something I shouldn't - buying sets and sets of new Robots/Transformers to keep his month shut.

Just received phone call from Enopi.

Kv got a Gold Award of their 2009 Math Olympaid (an international math competition organized by Enopi)

As he got 100/100 marks in the paper, most probably he will also get the World prize too.

Actually the result is unexpected cos he just used about an hour in the morning to go through the mock questions before the competition which held at 11am.

From Enopi's staff, 4 HK students got FULL marks this time. Because of the good results of HK students, average marks of the curve raised so that students who got 9X marks cannot even get a cert of merit....
