Procedure for contract renewal is NOT very time consuming. You need only spend 2 sessions to complete everything, if all documents are ready.
Body check - yes, need to do body check in order to get Doc letter saying that Indo DH is "fit for work".
Air ticket - yes and no. No need to present air ticket to Indo Consulate or HK Imm. Dept, but at most 1 yr from successful renewal of contract, employer must buy return air ticket for Indo DH.
Document required by the Indonesian Consulate for renewal of contract without employing the service of an agency:
1. New Employment Contract (signed by employer, domestic and TWO witnesses). The Contract (ID 407) can be obtained either from the Consulate or the HK Immigration Department)
2. One photograph of domestic helper
3. Letter of Guarantee (form is available at the Indonesian Consulate)
4. Employer letter stating the reason why to process the contract without going through agency. Employer needs to write this letter - there is no standard form.
5. One copy of domestic helper's HKID card
6. Original + Copy of domestic helper's passport
7. One copy of employer's ID card
8. Original + Copy of the previous (old) Employment Contract
9. Letter from doctor stating that domestic helper is fit for work (ask the doctor to introduce a laboratory centre to do body check up for the domestic helper and then get the doctor to write the letter)
When the above documents are ready, book an appointment with the Indonesian Consulate (note that the Consulate only accepts booking NOT more than one month before contract ends, so, for example, if your present contract ends on 1/5/2004, then the earliest date on which you can book the appointment is 1/4/2004). When booking the appointment, tell the staff when your present contract will end. The telephone no. is 2890 4421 ext. 264 or 224 (Head of Consular Section). The Consulate is closed on Saturday. Make sure that you get the date and time clearly written down because the Consulate will NOT check for you if you forget!
Both the employer and the domestic helper MUST attend the interview.
Fees charged bye the Indonesian Consulate: HK$480.00 (in CASH only).
If the Consular is satisfied with everything, he/she will give a receipt to the employer with a date written on the receipt. The domestic helper can take the receipt to the Consulate on that date and get:
1. 3 copies of the new Employment Contract (1 copy will be kept by the Consulate)
2. the original old Employment Contract
3. her original passport
Then the domesitc helper can proceed to apply to the HK Immigration Department for a visa.
