My hubby is the same, when he uses the utensils in the kitchen, he can always do some scratches to it... But he is willing to do and help out, so I can only keep 'one eye open, one eye closed' and be ...

Yes, I think over 50% husbands are careless to do works in the kitchen. My hubby is one of them.

You are so lucky that you can wear your old work suits afte you gave birth. I found that I needed to wear one size bigger clothing after I gave birth of my big girl. It's really hard to lose weight after I have two children.

Oh...your hubby had microwave food before he got married?

Last time, my daughter and I went back to HK for one month, my hubby had fish&chips, hamburgers, bread, fried chicken, potato crisps, corn flakes, doner kebab, chocolates & fruits for his meals during that month. The cooker was still very clean when I came back. He told me that he would not cook for only one person to eat. You may see how lazy he is.

My hubby won't be starved so long as he has eggs, potatoes & toasts and lots of coffees and teas AND the microwave! That's how he survived the year b4 when I stayed in HK for 2 months.

Yes, i didn't exaggarate the situation. I was very shock when I knew this as too! His mother fed him with mircowave food since he was a kid. So after he moved out, he couldn't be bothered with cooking. And he thought it's not really a problem to have microwave/junk food everyday.

When I first met my mother-in-law, I told her I enjoyed cooking very much and asked whether she cooked or not. She gave me that face that she couldn't be bothered, and said, 'Well, there's no point to cook when you live alone.'(She lives alone).

But the first question came up on my mind was why she didn't cook when she lived with her son. I find it quite irresponsible for a mother not to provide quality and healthy food for the kids. So now you may get more clues why things don't get on well between me and her.

Oh, if I were not in UK, I think my husband couldn't survive without a microwave oven. When I came back from HK last time, the microwave oven was very greasy inside. That means he used it alot without cleaned it well.

Finally, I have time to go online now as my baby is having her dummy (before she was crying). I think typing in chinese is better, but my chinese typing is not fast. Sometimes, typing in English can save time. Oh..your mother-in-law is so lazy that she didn't cook any meals for her son, but it's really hard to imagine how a mother doesn't cook anything for her child. Yes, I do think all mothers should cook proper meals for their children.

Same as your hubby....my hubby also thinks microwave food is okay for him, but he only has it occasionally. If I were your mother-in-law who lived alone, I thought I would still cook food but not for everyday. So she doesn't cook, she may not have any cooking utensils in her kitchen, right?

Now, my hubby still cooks for me for the whole month after my baby was born because he doesn't want me to touch much water. I am really bored to stay home for a month without going outside. Ha...just like I'm confining in jail and people just came to visit us. BTW, I'll be released soon.

Although your mother-in-law seems not a responsible mom, don't be that angry with her as she is also having microwave food herself and you don't need to live with her at this moment. So, you can cook more healthy food for your hubby from now on. Cheer up!

After next week, I will need to think about what to cook for dinner later. I feel headache to think about what to cook in the past. How about you? Do you enjoy cooking or not? Last time, I asked my husband to buy me 30 fresh duck eggs and I am making salt eggs now.

Yes, I read that a mum put tea bags with those eggs, but I think it's so strange. All water may change color and tea bags should not put into water for that long. Don't you think so?

Oh no, sorry....I mean you may put all those finished products (salty eggs) in the fridge to keep them longer.

As for the fresh duck eggs, we bought them from an indoor market which sold exactly eggs in a stall in the past. Unfortunately, the indoor market is under renovating, so we can't buy them there now. Finally, we found some duck eggs sell at Costco (10pcs for £2.5), so we buy them there now. I find that quality of duck eggs there are good, big and fresh and they tastes good. Oh, I don't know sainsbury also sells duck eggs. Could you tell me how much of them please?
