I'm still feeding breast milk for BB. Because BB started to eat 2 meals congee at the day time. So, i have some storage at home, less pressure now. Breasting life is easiler now.
My boy was born in July 1, 04. Want to know how many oz you feed your boy everyday ---- my boy now takes 26-28oz breast milk + 1 congee + 1 cereal + 1 fruit. I saw another topic that you give your son some bread. What else do you give him besides milk, cereal and congee?
黃小虎,
I have no idea how many ozs my baby eat everyday. During the day, I put him at daycare centre and he will eat a total of 16 ozs milk + 1 congee + bread as breadfast + 1/3 bowl of soup + 1-2 ozs of juice + few biscuit
I will feed him 1 bowl of cereal at night plus direct feeding few times.
Your son eats a lot! What kind of soup you give to him? I've tried to give my son Henz biscuit, but it's very hard and he doesn't like it. Which brand you buy? Where to buy?
hi, i'm just passing by.
i also give some vege soup to my son. very simply.
just tomato+pumpkin,tomato+potato,pumpkin+potato. pumpkin+corn, tomato+cauliflower/brocoli/celery.
all vege have a lot of combination. all family members can have this soup too.
sometimes i will add some meat or fish for more favor. those vege & meat are so soft, my son love to eat very much.
for the biscuit, heinz is very hard, u should try some japanese brand. like 和光堂. u can find those brand in city super, great, and 荷花親子中心. they cost $15-$23 / box.
Thank you for dropping me some tips on baby soup. My mother-in-law said we can give some long-boil soup to my boy. But I think it is too oily and am not sure the Chinese herbs in soup is okay for a baby. I will try some vege soup you advised for my boy. One more questions: do I need to pan fry the fish before transferring it to the soup? No salt, no oil, right?
Can your baby eat meat? Isn't it too difficult for your baby to chew it? My boy is almost 9M old, he needs some effort to chew the plain white bread even though he has two lower tooth.
For the biscuit, I will try the brand you advised. Thanks.
u can pan fry fish, but remember use kitchen tissue to absorb the oil. sometimes i use 隔油湯壺. a little bit oil for a 9 mths baby is ok. mama milk also had fat. right?
but sometimes i won't fry fish, i just add ginger and let the fish boiled for 15-20 mins, then take it out and cut the fish meat for congee. u may use fish-bag as keep safe that no fish bone left.
as the meat, i will triturate the raw meat then add to the soup or congee.
my baby had 6 teeth(upper 4 & lower 2), some time it's hard for him to chew cause he just had the fornt teeth. for the safty reson, u may dilacerate the food in small size. more easy to swallow. don't hurry ur boy to chew, he will learn sooner or later.
I boiled tomato+potato soup today. It works for my boy. I mashed tomato and potato and added a bit of soup. He likes it very much. When he was half full then I fed him the soup, so I skipped the cereal. I am going to replace cereal by other solid food. Your recipe is great for me!
Does your baby start eating egg york? How do you feed him?
黃小虎,
Actually I don't cook. I put my son at day-care centre and they will provide all the congee and soup to him. They have different soup and congee every day...e.g. tomota, carrot, lecture, meat, port, fish.....
For the biscuit, I gave Wakodo and one Japanese brand that found in Uny / Jusco. They are quite good as have seperate packing.
annettewu,
My son starts eating egg white and egg yolk since 7 months old...you may try 1/4 egg first. Then gradually increase the portino to 1/2 ....so on
I have not given my boy the egg white yet. I saw the leaflet somewhere it's better to fed baby egg white when they are 1 yr old.
I am also thinking of making some home-made soy milk to him because these days I found that my breastmilk supply drops a lot. Soy milk will be a good substitute of breastmilk. One meal a day would help me a lot!
Tofu is a good idea as well. Will you buy from local market or any Japanese brand? Let us know how to cook and what is the taste. Thanks.
Mamay,
I bought the biscuit from Uny yesterday. My In-law will feed him today. Hope he will like it.
I just try tofu twice. bought from wet market & chop in small size. the 1st time was boiling, of course no soysource and salt. my BB like it. the 2nd time i add it to the vege+meat soup, BB eat a lot. i think that's more tasty then just boiling.
tonight, the EE will try fish+pumpkin+tomato+tofu. i think it should be delicious.
i haven't try soy milk to alternate mama milk, i use it for snack only.
i had found a rice biscuit in GREAT,admiralty
, japan brand just $15.5 for a big pack.
Hi all moms,
Zach need to supplement with formula yesterday.
Now I only pump once as too busy at office that unable to pump anymore.
But I am OK with this as I now only target to bf him till 1.5 year old.
Helen,
I want to give one more meal of congee as well, but Zach's 育嬰院 only offer 2 meal of solid food to baby over 1 year old. They have fixed schedule. Thus, Zach still need to drink 3 bottle of milk per day.
Who take care Nika today?
I haven't tried tofu yet. My sister bought a good reference book <給寶寶最好的第一口食譜> from 商務印which has many congee/soup recipes that suitable for baby from 6M to 3yr old. There are some tofu congee recipes as well.
Will you add cheese into the congee or potato mash? It seems very tasty comparing to plain meat/veggie congee.
My boy now has two meals of congee + fruit + bread + biscuit everyday, but I haven't reduced daily breastmilk, about 26-28 oz. Is it too much for him? As I saw some topics saying that baby from 10M to 12M, daily breastmilk is 8oz x 3, i.e. 24 oz. Am I right? How's your case?
