I strongly suspected this was a big trap created together by both 東X Employment Agency and a Philippine maid called VirgXXXX Galang. 東X Agency has two offices; one in Mongkok and one in Wanchai.
I finally got rid of that maid and have a big relief now after the 6-week torture, and I don't want anybody to be cheated again.
Her profile said she has worked at Kuwait for 2 years taking care of 2 babies and all housework. And it ended up she knew very little about taking care of the baby. She does not know how to make congee for baby and how to cook. She told me in the past job, the babies were on ready-made baby food only (could that be true?) and she did not need to cook for the family because the madam cooked (sounded like the madam was actually the maid?). She did not even know how to use a chopper and how to even steam fish and how to even cook instant noodle !! She said in the Philippines, her family had a maid, and her mom and the maid cooked. We then asked her why she came to work as a maid since she didn't know anything. She did not answer but just smiled.
I called the agency and asked whether she could be trained in their training centrer. The agency said, "what training centre? Your home is the training centre for her." Yes, it ended up I needed to train her to cook and to take care of the baby ! And I felt much more tired than without this horrible maid (and agency).
She always went to sleep at 10:30pm every night (waking up at 6:30am), and left the last baby feeding time to me. (She had her own room for sleeping and the baby is in my room.) Once I knocked her door at 6:15 am asking her to feed the baby as the baby was crying, she did not come out until 6:30 am. I called the agency about that and said she should be more flexible in time but can take more sleep in day time. The agency responded, "by law, the maid should have sleep for 8 hours continuously". What an agency !
She liked to fake herself as a submissive and weak person, and when she found that we were not satisfied by her job performance, she changed to a very bad and strong attitude against us.
On the day I let her go by settling all the payments including the one-month notice payment and air ticket, she signed all agreements but insisted to get the letter of reasons of termination. I refused to give and then she called police. She sticked in my building lobby for an hour calling the police again and again. It was very annoying. The police came and asked her to leave. The agency was not better. The agency stood on her side e.g. asking me to give her a couple of hundred dollars more on top of the air ticket etc, and I did. The agency also asked me to change the ticket departure date for her at my own expense because this is the law of labour department (this agency said law again). I refused it because she has got all the money and air ticket under mutual agreement on the departure date and signed on the receipt already. If she wanted to play by constantly changing her mind about the departure dates, how can the employer do it for her at the employer's expense and time?
I think we should be allowed to share more freely on this forum about this topic because it could be a big damage to the family if one uses a wrong agency and wrong maid.

My God~ My agency is also 美x at Mongkok.
我個姐姐一開頭都係講話佢完全唔識煮野食, 因為佢係菲律賓打工果2年係由個MUM去煮, 佢負責臭果7個小朋友, 咁我就算啦. 然後慢慢教佢. 佢依架雖然煮得一般, 但我地兩公婆又無乜要求就算數.
