this is photo area, not daddy area hehehe.... i am teaching my husband but he take it as a joke we was at the beach and i told him to take photos of me and my tummy and he only took photos of my tummy!!

he thinks it's really funny! oh well, hopfully i don't have to jump off the delivery bed myself to take photos of the baby!! hehehe... also i have always like taking photos rather then been taken photo off.... so during my chor yuet i will have plenty of photos of my baby!

then like me you have to teach you other half to take photos, then you will be able to have more photos with your kids!

Don't get me wrong, i like this area where we can pick up tips and advice from other parents.

my wife complained that the DSLR is to big, then I bought the Nikon Coolpix 5900 for her. When we go out, she use that to take photo now.

我由個女出生到現在差不多9個月, (但我們只是星期5,6,日見面), 我用dslr都幫佢影左6,000多張相.
當然, 唔係張張好, 但好多特別的表情就捉到不少.
但我同個女的合照就不過20張.
其實重有一樣係好緊要, 就係運用閃光燈之問題對小BB之影響.
因BB太細, 不宜用閃光燈. 通常同小BB影相, 多數室內, 何況而家咁熱, 都唔會同小BB出街. 室內影就要盡量開室內之燈管. 可有足夠之光源令相片清晰或靠近WINDOW影.
如用DC仔之閃燈多直打出閃光, 你地大人不如自己試下個閃光燈向自己隻眼打一下, 即時眼都花2-3分鐘, 何況眼睛未發育健全的小BB, 我個女都係上兩個星期先敢用閃光燈, 但都唔係直打, 係打上天花.
所以真的想下, 如要換相機時, 可選購一些相機係可以加外置閃光燈的(甚至有些DC仔都有此FUNCTION), 就算在室內影小BB, 都可把閃光燈打上天花, 避免直打影響眼睛

my case is same as you! though my husband likes to take pictures but I'm the enthusiastic one, therefore we have more photos of father & son than mother & son :cry: but he's quite happy with me handling the camera all the time, coz' my mother-in-law also loves photography, she uses contax T3 & Leica rangefinder

And you'll soon find out it's not easy to go out with baby & all baby stuff+stroller & the camera+lens+flash

We normally take only the minimal gear- a small camera bag & whatever gears can fit in. But if your husband is not taking pictures, that means no one is taking-- coz you'll be too busy tending to your little one-- is he sweating/drooling/sleepy/hungry/thirsty/crying/agitated, then it'll be time to eat/change diaper/change clothes, then he need you to hold him for no particular reason........ and then if you can still find time, you can take pictures. so, good luck!

don't worry i have already had this chat with my husband, he will look after the baby while i take the photos, we have planned a trip for when baby is 4-5 months old and he will be carrying baby with a baby carrier on the font and i have just got a photo ruck sack that he will carry on his back!! he has agreed!!

He is such a sweet heart!!

I hope your husband is a much stronger guy (physically) than my hubby

plus it's very challenging to take baby to an overseas trip at that age... our first was at his 11 months and my parents plus my mom-in-law went with us...

but that's not the reason I like photography

I actually am more interested in the rangefinder..... haven't seen it yet, my mom-in-law put the whole set in the 保險箱 in bank，she said it's better than any 防潮箱.
