made a family tree and posted on the wall. baby liked "hitting" the pix when being asked who is "grandma", etc. :p

brought baby outdoors. free crawling on grass and play.

ordered a bookshelf for displaying books as baby started "playing" the books made of "hard paper". also been to a bk shop called X and Learn in Grand Century Plaza to buy some more hard books. (HK side, the bk shop is called crwons books- sth like that.)

played water games. sth like that.

another busy weekend. :)

I have read this topic for a while. I am a bit free today, so I can't click to see what moms talk recently. Moms here concern the education/pg/kinder.

I am less busy this month, then I take my boy to park on Sun. He sleeps less and eats less on Sat and Sun because he is very intrested in the environment and people around him. He ate only half-bowl of congee for dinner and cried to sleep. Finally, he slept at 9pm. It never happened that he could sleep before 10pm.

Is it a usual patten that kids eat less and sleep less at weekend?

i also bought two hard books to my baby before... about ABC and 123, only $9.9 for each... i don't know if baby know the content, but at least he has learnt how to switch the pages...
what a great idea to take baby to grass... where did u take baby coz it's hard to find a place with nice grass...
also did Jacob eat the grass? I think my baby will certain do so..

re. grass, it's highly recommended to go to HKUST. w/ lots of grass lands and open to public. if w/ alumni card, day parking is only $30. (if not, first 2 hrs' will be $10 per hr and starting from the third will be $50 per hr). remember to bring a "bubble bottle". baby loves the bubbles so much. (u can go to toysrxx to buy. it has a type called sqeeze-up bubbles. u won't make your fingers dirty.)

another choice is CUHK. ven't tried this yet as i just got the alumni card. may try in the coming wkend. (i don't know. maybe husband prefers going to UST again)

re. HK side, i m not sure if HKU also ve similar things (though i worked there for a few months after graduate. ven't explored it yet.) n i wondered if my husband has applied this alumni card too.

i guess u may also explore if the victoria park is ok. no idea if u can play on the grass or not :)

btw, so far, baby didn't eat the grass. actually he took some time to get used to the grass. (re. sand, it took him 15 mins to start eating it)

re. books, i guess it's no harm to develop a reading habit. flipping bks also is a gd exercise for the fingers :)

needs to be alumni to enter into both UST & CUHK ?? my office is locate around HKU.. I don't find as much grass / nice outdoor area on HKU campus........

UST, no need. but the parking fee for public starting from the 3rd hr will be $50 per hr! whereas if u r an alumni, the parking fee for whole day will be $30 only. make some difference.

CUHK, also no need but i guess the difference is also the parking fee. ven't tired yet. shall report after trying.

Thanks for telling us where we can find grasslands. I think the environment in HKUST is nice. It would be a very good place for kis.

I saw a kid aound 2 years old chasing the bubble ball when his dad and mom played with him. It is a good game for encouraging kids to walk/run. For our kids, they can't walk, they may follow it with their eyes.

UST is far from our home... but i think we can go if we go to my mum's home in junk bay..
btw, i'm not familiar w/ UST as i only went to grad hse near to the entrance for co. training.
is the grassland near to the chinese restaurant?

first, remember that u can't enter UST by car at main entrance. ve to park at the "south" entrance

1) somewhere near the carpark- small grassland
2) somewhere near the bridge link to Hall 1. - much bigger.

As far a I know, there is a mini-bus to HKUST from Hang Hau.

hi hi - how was your long weekend? took baby for HK Park on Fri:

1/ The Aviary (Bird part)
- we were v impressed cos it looked like jurassic park!!! it's worth going there (when there's no bird flu!!!????!) it doesn't look like HK at all

2/ Children Kingdom
- we let bb played in the sand. we brought some sand toys eg bucket etc. he didn't like the sand much. he didn't cry but not move either. he picked up some sand to investigate but didn't eat it though

3/ Fountain
- there was also this fountain bit, where we can let bb dip their feet.

momo is doing fine but getting very naughty.

i can't wait to take him to join the gathering later on!
i'm still waiting for mygym. i'm on the waiting list for infant class and 1 year old class.
i hope he can join it soon. cuz' he is too energetic. hopefully he can release his energy. :)

hi xogogo - i think you will get a reply next week. cos we received a slip asking us if we want to continue for the next term. some people bound to drop out or change, so best to call them this Sat pm or next Monday. hope momo & lucas will be in the same class. u going to try the sat am class right?

lucas is v naughty now. his crawling is limitless now. so fast & hard to follow. he likes messing up his toys v much. i tried teaching/show him how to clean up & he just smiles at me..... when he smiles, my heart just melts.... :loveliness:
