We enjoyed Todai very much cos that was the first time we went to Todai and maybe last time cause no Todai in NC. :cry:
So, you and I had the same OB and will you use her next time if you pregnant again? I guess I will...even though she is not very personal but you just have to trust her anyway.
By the way, if you guys are ok maybe we can have a dim sum gathering on 8/6 (Saturday) on Dynasty in Story Road (san jose east). If the date is not ok, pls let me know and we can propose another date and time, ok?

I guess you just give him clear fluid like apple juice or baby glucose to supplement his fluid. No milk defintely and just don't give him congee la...stop a little while and wait until he recover.
For the gathering, if Tue or Wed is work for you, then marble most likely will ok.

要睇下你既興趣係邊到啦, 同小朋友一齊去既話, 首先去"The Mall", 行個大公園有Washington Monument, World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial and all the museums include Air and Space, National gallery of Art, Hirshorn Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Natural History, Museum of American History, Freer Gallery of Art (feature Asian Art) 呢D全都係同history 有關係, 都係同一帶地方, 但係要行會行到腳都斷埋, 同埋一日去唔晒, 一日行"The Mall", 一日行museums (如果有興趣既話), 仲有行開個MALL 遠少少就係白宮, 想參觀入面要晨咁早攞飛, 好似5點呀咁啦, 不過好多時都俾NYC D 團攞晒! 好多人都係鐵籠出面影吓想就算(包括我) DC 個Chinatown 同其它既chinatown 都一樣啦, 多咗好多大公司既, 但係得2blocks, 去到半個鐘唔使都睇晒, D野麻麻地好食, 我上次想食粥個menu 有但係坐低冇得食!

仲有你咁遠黎到DC, 都要去下 Baltimore, Annapolis, Great Falls in VA, 如果你有時間既話就去吓睇下囉, Baltimore個水簇館都好正架. Annapolis 係MD 既capital, 政府D辦公室係晒果度, D樓既建設都幾靚好有小鎮個仲feel, (似歐州小鎮) 因為近harbour, 好多靚野食, 好好味, 但係都幾貴. Great Falls in VA, 由DC去大約1個半鐘, 睇自然環境同 water fall. 幾靚架, 野餐好地點!

我哋去5天,如果唔租車,咪去唔到Baltimore, Annapolis, Great Falls 囉?聽聞DC的metro好方便。Actually I went to DC once some years ago, but that's for a conference, so I didn't have a chance to look around. I only went to the White House and the Union Station with my friend in one evening.

我會print out你嘅suggestion. Thanks.其實我哋有個friend喺DC做嘢,但係佢冇小朋友,所以suggest唔到比我邊度啱小朋友去!!

你上次去DC住响邊?我訂咗IAD airport附近,但個friend叫我轉hotel, 因為IAD離DC or tourist attractions好遠！

各位 mami,
今朝帶 Clarence 去見pedi，醫生話佢只係腸胃炎，好彩佢無嘔，又果唔係就會麻煩 D woo.... ，佢比o左 D 腸胃藥我叫我比 BB 食如果嚴重就再比另外一隻藥 woo (要真係好嚴重先好) 同埋佢叫我依幾日比soymilk 比BB instead of 比奶，整 D 清 D o既o野比 BB 食唔好有油，所以今日Clarence 就真係無啖好食，成日都係麵包、白粥、米糊、水同奶。無辨法啦！鬼叫佢唔舒服咩！不過好彩佢o既情況己經有所好轉。

到現在為止痾o左3次！Pat Pat 都冇紅 loo

all bay area moms,

weekdays / weekend lunch is fine... mon, tue and friday is good. i prefer dynasty in cupertino (although i dont know where it is, hehe) but it is up to the majority...if you folks prefer the one on story road, that's ok too.

我地住係MD, 佢離DC 1個鐘15分鐘車程, 所以我地去DC都係即日來回, 無揾酒店住, 2年前租過du point circle既酒店, 都幾正, 好方便囉, 因為METRO 係行10分鐘就到.
我好耐無去過DC啦. 上次都係上年7月阿媽黎果時去, 不過阿媽唔係好欣賞chinatown, 話咁快行完既!!??

I am back to "normal" after thinking too much without my hubby by my side last weekend!

Now is still busy, busy, busy.....!!!!! Thank you for those who comfort me --- Clarab, little fat man, Natmama, muimui.... thank you!

My hubby is back from his trip in Canada, and bought me and bb presents!!!

u know what? I unwrapped bb's present and enjoyed it so much until my hubby reminded me there's one for me too!

OK, back to my "normal" self means I have questions again...

Since the babycenter.com is having its sales ends this Sunday, I need your opinion to "clever" buying:

1. What brand of electric pump u use? Do u find it good?
2. Do I need to buy bottle sterilizer and bottle warmer? Or do u think "old grandma method" (ie. use hot/ warm water) still works?
3. How about nursing pad? How much for the "intial start"?
4. Nipple cream? What brand is good?

Hehe.... shopping and more shopping this weekend!

Hi Hi !!

Haven't chat with you gals for ages, hope everyone is doing fine, I think I need at least 1 hour to catch up all the messages!

I see there are a few new moms around, nice meeting all of you! :-P
Finally "sit moon" period is over, now everything is back on schedule,what I mean is "doing the laundry, cleaning up the house.... etc. "

everyday seems like so busy, always doing this and that, but actually taking care the baby part is not too hard since her brother goes to nursery everyday and I just have to look after bb girl and my mom can give me a hand if I need it.
She is 6 weeks old now,she gained 2 lbs ( 8lbs 12 oz) when she had the check up at her 2 weeks old. The ped. said I don't have to bring her back until she is 2 mos old since she is eating good, sleeping well and gaining weight excellent( actually she said is a little bit too much! :mrgreen:) Right now I believe she has to be at least 10lbs, she looks like she has double her size already,

I'll write you gals more later after I read the messages.

I need to get my license by the year 2007! The board insuring the lic is going to change its criteria in 2007 and then 2012 again. I know I cannot be evaluated with the 2007 criteria, because I fail at least one pt: the candidate has to have at least one course talking about US law on audiology practice!!!!!

I think 麵包、白粥、米糊、水 is good for your baby for the time being. It’s a good idea to have the stomach rest once in a while! Hope he gets well soon!

My hubby and I visited DC and Baltimore June 2003 (no bb with us at that time). We first arrived Baltimore, spent one day there and rode the train to DC (1 hr I think) and stayed in a hotel near the Mall. Must see in DC are the Air and Space M and Natural History M. Your boy will love the space craft and dinosaurs

If u visit Baltimore, remember to try the “blue crab cake”. YUMMY!

BTW, I live in Westwood and often go to Alhambra for dim-sum during weekend!

2nd time - cry 10 mins
3rd time - cry 8 mins
last nite - cry 2 mins

I will keep training today until she understands...support me ah!!!

1. Medela pump with conversion kit for Avent Bottles
2. Bottle warmer yes. Sterilizer no becuz americans only suggested to sterilize one time and after that hot water with soap is good for bottles and bb utensils
3. I bought a box but never used it.
4. Medela nipple cream but only used it a few times since i pumped most of the time so nipple was ok

to all pretty moms,

i am soooo happy, haha, valerie got her first tooth, yay!!! we noticed it yesterday but it already came out by 1mm... the nanny said she felt it last week when she cleaned her gums.....haha, she didnt tell us coz she's not sure. i have been waiting for her tooth for so long.... although i missed how her tooth found it way out, haha ( i always joke with my husband that valerie's teeth has lost their way..), i am still very happy.

now my mom is recalling which night or day in the past week that valerie's cranky and suggesting that might be the day her tooth first came out, hahaha.

shiba-inu,

1. i used the manual pump from avent during the weaning off period. since i dont use it very often, manual pump is a cheaper but takes longer than electrical pump. if you need to pump at work or you are planning to pump more often than feeding directly from the breast, then this will be your choice... my friend uses medela and it is the best in the market...i think, hehe.

2. i uses avent bottle sterilizer and i think it is useful and save me a lot of time. now i use it to sterilize the bowls, spoons and other baby utensils besides the bottles. after i sterilize all the stuffs, i will put them in the fringe.. i have a separate fringe for valerie... and my friend will buy a big plastic box to hold all the bottles b4 putting it in the fringe....there are still germs in the fringes mah.

3. i dont have a bottle warmer coz valerie drinks conc and everytime i just add hot water to it and it is the right temp to drink.. what i do is to put the conc formula in a ice pack bag and bring a bottle of hot water to valerie's room for the night time feeding...so the nanny can prepare the formula in her room in the middle of the night...but my friends who pump a lot, recommend to get a bottle warmer which you can ice the pumped milk and warm it up in a few minutes...save a lot of time.

4. my sis sent me the nursing pads from hk, it is from pigeons and i think they are quite good. no idea on the price here.

5. i use lansinoh, my husband bought it for me and think i might need it.. it is about $10. in fact, i just used it once or twice and i dont think it is much help.... i still have some sample packs from my ob which is still good and unused, i can send them to use and you can save the money... email me your address if you want it

i have tried the crying method when valerie was 3/4months old but it failed....the first night, she cried for 30 minutes and then fell asleep. on the second night, she cried for 45 minutes, got choked, very cranky and refused to sleep .... then on the third nite, we gave up :-( :-( :-( now, we have to hold her to sleep with a baby bjorn ( she is almost 20Ib now ) i am thinking of trying the crying method again when she is 1yr old.

nat_mama, natalie is doing very good in learning to sleep on her own. i read from some researches that it usually takes a week to train and according to the progress, i think natalie can do it in a week

....so envy

I bought Avent sterilizer, the one you use in microwave, 好易用, 你老公唔使學都識用, 我果時老公都有幫手, 慳返好多時間( 佢都要參與湊BB架麻) , 不過要microwave watt 數唔太勁先用到, 要長詳資料就話我知, 我另返本說明書出黎睇下. 舊式煲樽方法唔好用, 好浪費時間, 要睇火, 加埋你會好累, 仲要睇火, 唔安全, 唔用microwave sterilizer 都要用電既, 咁你就會湊女得黎舒服好多.

一包搞掂晒, 頭個月會多D用, 後尾女女飲奶飲得多就唔使用LU. (不過人人唔同, 你都係買咗一包先啦, 用晒先再買, 果D間間supermarket都有, 唔使急住買)

醫院會俾超細支裝你試用, 通常用咗頭幾日又唔使再用, 唔使急住買, 再唔係叫醫院俾多2支細支裝你, 夠你用過坐月啦.
