I am so happy today..
As I left Gabriel with Ying EE for a while (as I need to go back to my employee health to check my PPD reading and have the X-ray done to prove that I don't have TB)..
Gabriel still remember who is Ying EE..
sure that.. Ying EE comes back to take care of Gabriel ..is the right decision.. ^O^

Hi Nille_Mami,
As I know you are a nurse, do you know how many doses of chickenpox vaccine should a child get? I brought my daughter to have a chickenpox vaccine last year in HK. I thought she only needed to take one injection in the past, but I have just found out some people said it should be 2 doses of chickenpox vaccine? Does she needs to take another injection after few years?

you are living in UK, right?
it depends on how much immune your daughter obtains in her body. not every body needs 2 vaccine.
They will do the skin test by inject some medicine under skin on the forearm and see how your daughter reacts to determine if she needs a second does.

C6 下星期走喇,我老闆吾係到,無乜野做,我諗住坐係到收人工到7月,佢一返黎就同佢講吾do。
不過7`8月機票貴,我諗9-10左右就過去嫁喇,不過等c6 走佐,我都開始 pack d 衫過去先喇。希望今年年尾可以去探你啦。

I wonder, why you want your daughter to have BCG??
it is not necessary in UK.

they do have PPD test in anywhere else.. as all people who will work as health care professional or attend health care studies. they need to have a PPD test done.
if they have no PPD history. some countries will offer BCG vaccine to protect their students or employees.

One day after my daughter was born, she had the BCG injection (against TB) in the hospital. The doctor said we are Asian and may travel to asia countries, it's best for her to have the BCG injection. Last year, when I went back to HK, I brought my daughter to have the chickenpox vaccine which should be called "Varicella" to against chickenpox. The reason why I took her to take the chickenpox vaccine because my relative's child who didn't take the vaccine (UK gov't does not suggest children to have it) got chickenpox last time and he was very painful. very serious and got high fever for over ten days. So, I am really afraid of my daughter will get it later. I only found that some private clinics in London will offer the vaccine, but I am not living in London. At first, I thought chickenpox only needs to have one injection. After I read some moms at BK said it should be 2 injections. It made me so confused???

no no chickenpox vaccine is given once only..

did those BK moms said that even kids have vaccine and still suffer from chickenpox or even they did have chickenpox and suffer the second time?
I don't know that chickenpox vaccine will be given 2 times.
as the virus of chickenpox has 六型and 七型.. so kids may suffer 2 times unfortunately.
however, most of the kids will only suffer once.
but like me.. I was immuned once when I was little, I have never got chicken pox, my brother got chicken pox when he was21 years old, my sister has it when she was about 3-4 years old..

FYI, for those people who did not immune at 12-18 months old.. and did not do it until 13 years old &older.. like those new immigrants in hk, they may need 2 vaccinations for 4-8 weeks apart.
that's mean.. your infant doesn't need the second dose.
