From my previous experience, I got much better exchange rate in the bank(s) of HK if you are a prestige client of the bank(s). :-P The rate in Singapore Airport was very low! :-|
Very good offer from Cathy Pacific. I bought from Zuji only air-tickets for 2 adults & 1 kid costs us $4095 depart on 1 July too. Hotels in Singapore is not cheap.
Have stayed in Meritus Negara before, around 10 mins walk from Orchard station. At night, the surrounding area is full of nightclubs and hence many sexy girls are hanging around there.
For Swissotel, are you referring to Swissotel the Stamford or Swissotel the Merchant Court. For Swissotel the Stamford, the hotel is just above the City Hall and MRT and most of the rooms have a very good view. Downstairs there is a shopping mall already. For Swissotel the Merchant Court, it's located at Clarke Quay, not that convenient though it's close to MRT station also.

Both South Tower of Meritus Mandarin and Crown Hotel are quite worn out inside. However their location is excellent as all department stores are downstairs. Facilities wise, Meritus Mandarin will be better.
Grand Plaza Park royal and Rendezvous Hotel, their rooms are smaller than the above 2 hotels, but are better maintained. Grand Plaza Parkroyal is closed to City Hall station and Boat Quay, about half way in between the 2. And is just next to the Peninsula Plaza in which is a good place for purchasing those electronic and digital products. Area around Rendezvous is a bit cozy, but there is kopitam (food court) just opposite to the hotel where you can have any food 24 hours. In terms of facitilies, Grand Plaza Parkroyal is much better than Rendezvous.

I live in Grand Plaza parkroyal last yr. Its not a big hotel but its comfort and conven. Even the swimming pool is very small but only few ppl will go there...its just like yr private swimming pool~~but I remember this hotel can only accept 2 ppl in a room now and also they will have charge (I remember Mon-Thur)...pls check b4 u book!! because of this reason...i book another hotel this time~~
