Although I have been viewing this topic for a while, this is the first time I raise my problem. Hope you can give some advice. Many thanks! =)

Recently I have a problem with my baby Ashley... she doesn't like drinking water to begin with... and is getting worse now... that she will just suit her mouth and does not want to drink even a drop... is there any tricks?

I have not given her any juice because I thought freshly squeezed juice can't be stored for over an hour... is that true?

Actually in this stage, as baby is still drinking around 20oz milk, the liquid requirment is attained and no need to worry.

However, you can continue to feed her water constantly, even only a zip, so that she learn that it is a rountine every day.

And you can feed her more melon type vegetables which is of abundent of water content.

Freshly squeezed juice can be keep chilled fo a day.

Hi, k10chau , I'm just a passer-by. But I think you should also note that if you are not exclusively breastfeeding, you DO need to give Ashley other sources for water, say juice or my baby's favorite -- Corn and Carrot Water. I boil corn and carrot in water for say 30 - 45 minutes (corn and carrot cut up into small chunks say 1 or 2-thumb size). Could also try Wintermelon water (with skin) as babies on formula then to be "hot" or "hypothermia (?)", so need different foods to balance the body.

Have you tried letting her drink from bottle with a straw? I have tried those with a straw and a metal weight at the end so she doesn't have to tilt her head backwards to suck the water from the bottle. She's still using the tit from the bottle but she's more willing to drink like this. She could now sit on the playmat, bottle sitting on the floor, and she bends her neck to suck from it, without even holding it... so funny... ! Hope u understand what I meant

My Ashley is still on Mammy's milk... she usually has over 20 oz a day.

Yes - I also feel that she doesn't like to bend her head backward to drink the water from the learning cup.

So you think my baby can start using the straw (stage 3 for Combi's cups)? Some told me need to wait until she has more teeth (she only has 2 lower teeth).

Another question to everyone: do you let your babies hold her milk bottle (with the nipple) & drink milk themselves? I didn't but just thinking if I should. Because my Ashley doesn't like drinking milk recently & cries very badly everytime after she had 3-4 oz... not sure if she is not interested in letting us to hold/feed her anymore??!!

Please share with me your experience. so worried!!! :-(

Momo is using combi stage 3, I guess the problem is not bcos of how many teeth she has, but is concerning if she can swallow smoothly. momo used to choke a little after drinking from a straw, but is getting used to now.

No need to force bb holds, especially if she is not really want to drink/hold.

Qbb是BB芝士，可以作零食或加入食物中。 City super/jusco買。

芝士片有很多其他添加物，儘量不要吃。

毛毛吃兩餐粥。

亞囡曉得用stage 3 啜水, 但係就經常啜完後就"bu"番D水出來, 或者係一飲完就張開佢個口流番d水出來, 攪到我要經常用毛巾接住佢個口

, 有時佢就會吞, 好鬼煩。

I just spent the last few days going thru this topic to 溫書 again.......wah.....the feeling is so good, just like seeing our babies growing up again only this time in a fast foreward mote. seeing that our babies from one day 5-meals milk 一嚿肉團 to now "大魚大肉"周圍走.....仲有零食tim........而mami們就由唔知食咩糊仔....到依家粥仔/糊仔專家, every moment is a milestone for us.....which I'd treasure very much & sure won't mind expereince it again. add oil to all of us
