ohhhh..are you going back to work later or are u gonna be a full time mom? i am sure u have alot of patient to do this kinda job. big satisfaction for seeing kids improve unlike me dealing with the computer all the time .....so r u a speech therapist?

yup, he is neutered. i guess he just have a free spirit...
too bad most pedi told us to get rid of the dog cuz of allergy for kids but mine is no shedding kind should be alrite la.

Yeah. I am back to NY. I am sorry I just stayed in HK a little more than 2 weeks. And I can't believe how busy we can get with our daughter... everyone wants to see her almost everyday... So I didn't have a chance to come out for tea with you. Sorry..

Totally agree.. some time.. I really want to move back to HK. But it seems that it is not that easy... everything has to start over again. But I am enjoy staying with family... so... tough decision.

I beleive if you travel with children who under 2, you should get a ticket. ( I thought only 1/2 price) Because by some reason, the plant always full.

I saw some people brought the car seat. But some don't. But I think if you don't have car seat, you can hold your bb while landing.. because they have bb seat belt.

sterlize - people said you don't need that if the baby a year old. But when I was HK, my mother-in-law used the old fashional way... boring water ..

They have disposable bags you can put into the bottle but you still need nipple.

for yr questions:
1. Do we need to bring car seat on board?
Bailie is big enough to sit, i dont think u need to bring a carseat on board, otherwise, u may need to buy a child ticket for her in order to get a seat.
2. Should I buy a ticket for my daughter so she can guarantee to have a seat (child airfare is 75% of adult airfare)?

or hoping the flight is not full?
Depends on which airlines u choose la, if you will take CX, u need to pay 75% to get a seat, IF you take CO, u need to pay 100% to get a seat, there is no child ticket in CO.
For my opinion, u dont need to buy child ticket for Bailie as Mar is not a hot season, the plane will not be full, my hubby will be coming early of Mar as well. the ticket should be cheaper.
3. Do I still need to sterlize the bottle while in HK? or should I use disposable kind? and do I still need sterlize the nipple?
how long will u be staying in HK? if not too long, disposable is good. Has Bailie been drinking whole milk? if yes, she can take 蒙牛, there is 9oz pack in supermarket, save yr bottle.
Because I stay wit my family , i can sterlize the bottle everday. if you use bottle, u still need to sterlize. ( will u stay in hotel? some hotel will provide sterlizer machine for quest. but need to ask.)

aiya, andrew咁like隻狗, 有咩可能唔要呀...但如果佢地既health係因為隻狗..就真係要諗諗佢點攪好...一定要洗手玩完狗後, 地方clean d應該冇事啦.叻叻上年番黎hk同隻狗玩左幾個月都冇事..

1. I did bring my car seat every time, because sometimes, I took Amanda back to hk by myself. so I can't imagine to use baby carrier with my overweight baby in the bathroom in flight. also, no matter CX or CO .. it is over 15 hours flight.. every one will be tired.. Amanda did sleep well every time inside her carseat.
When she was 7 months, we used infant car seat with CX, since she is over 1, we started using convertible carseat.. with CX and CO works very well
2. I do buy ticket for Amanda every time because I want to make sure, if anythng happened (touch wood).. she got her seat, and she got her insurance covered.
CX, CO, NW and AA also offer child airfare.. we took them before..
3. over 1 year old, by American Pediatrican Association, we don't need to sterilize bottle and utensil.
But my peds doesn't allow us to do so.. because Amanda's immune break down after jetlag.. so he suggested us to use the disposible system from Playtex the nursing system which is wonderful.. since then, every time we travel away from new york (inter states or overseas), we use Playtex, so we can move on.. we did not sterilize the nipples, nipple rings, and bottle body(storage bag container), we used the hot water rinse it.. and air dry it..
I have checked with Avent, Gerber, Dr. Brown, if you use regular bottle and nipple, avoid to boil the feeding utensil, because after over 5 minutes boiling in water, the bad chemical will breakdown.. However, 5 minutes is not long enought to sterilize bottle.

Thank for your suggestions. I think we will buy a child ticket for my daughter since it is a long flight. I dont think we want to hold her to sleep for that extended period of time. Do we really dont need to sterlize the bottle anymore? I remember someone told me about after one years old, no need to sterlize bottles. I just want to make sure it is ok to do so.

Ahching, since you just got back from HK, do you need to make an appointment to take studio pictures? and which studio do you recommend?

Carrie, i am mixing whole milk with formula, so i guess i still need to bring the bottle loh. I am planning to leave NY on March 1st. We will be in HK for 10 days, Taipei for 3 days then Thailand for 3 days. Do people use car seat in HK? are you taking nat nat to take studio pictures too? any recommendation?

你話黎到hk有冇人用carseat呀? 真係唔多呀..我睇10個得3個用呀, bailee 都16個月, 同埋佢比較高大, 我覺得係唔洗帶carseat比佢用. 只要你起機同landing時用bb seat belt就得啦. 我上年10月買ticket番hk時, co已冇左child airfare, 但你可再check多次呀. 但我估你坐cx會近d, 因係jfk上機呀.
仲有係..我帶easy up比叻叻上機用呀.因張changing table唔岩我地bb用啦..用easy up會方便好多. 但我都有要cx request要佢d 片片, 可拎黎平時用,佢地係送petpet, 都好好用, 你要size L啦, 實岩著..因cx係2-4-2位, 你最好要中間果行兩邊既路位, mark bailie係你地隔離, 咁多出果個位有90%唔會有人要,咁bailie就可有兩個位訓覺啦. 放心啦, 3月機唔會點full.
如你女仲飲緊mixing formula, 好等而家仲有個幾月, 同佢轉晒飲whole milk啦, 叻叻係15個時已轉晒飲whole milk啦, 會方便好多.唔洗帶太多野.
仲有係帶兩支屋企水(用bailie既奶樽裝好)帶上機用, 你地check in時佢實話唔得,但你唔洗理佢, 照上機, 過關時,佢地見你地帶住bb,佢地會問d野係唔係比bb飲,咁佢地會比你過架啦..你一路張帶既水mix w/機既水,比bailie飲,咁佢去到hk時, 一路mix w/hk水又飲, 咁佢唔會有diaharr架啦, 呢個方法我已試左好多次用係叻叻度, 係ok呀..
記住帶出世紙,打針紙(copy), 藥就買定motrin要黎去thai or taiwan用, 係hk唔洗啦, 係法國醫院睇都好平. touch wood.
影相方便..上年帶左叻叻去www.studio123.hk 影,好平,同好靚.今年想試另一間, 但未decide..嘿嘿

no lar, i am determined to be a stay-home mom for my kid at least until he's one (hopefully two) ... i wanna to watch him grow ar ... hehe ...

when working in EI, i am just a small potatoe --- service coordinator ... it's really rewarding when seeing kids improve and talking with sensible parents ... but when dealing with those tedious parents, lots of patience needed as we can't show temper ar mar ... luckily i had some good coworkers back then ... hehe

We went to http://www.vitapixel.com.hk for the pictures.
I am not sure how much. Because my sister-in-law paid for it as x'max gift for my mother-in-law ( that's why she is in the pictures)
I think she paid about HK$1,600 - with 8x pictures and the CD. But we didn't do any albums.. and because we have too many people, so we have to paid extra head cost.
If you go week day, they have cheaper rate. Because we go sunday.
I thought I saw they have a package for weekday.. only cost HK$500-600, of couse if you want a lot of pictures it will cost more.. you can call over there and ask..

Yeah. You have to make appointment. My sister-in- law arrage them. It is much easy to make appointment for weekday, and it is cheaper.

I am not sure this is the first time we took the picture.

I know a lot of people go to 123 studio too. But my sister-in-laws prefer this one.. (since she paid for it.. so I don't care) You can go to thier website and check it out. See which one you prefer better.

The one I just took, we can have 8 outfit..(too much).. we just use 4.. baby can't stand too long...I guess the price is OK not bad. you can try.

overall it sounds like u had a very rewarding job la.u could probably use your experience on teaching terrence tim. good for u. take alot of pictures and videos. kids grow really fast..
