just saw the messages of other topics, most of the children can perform the interviews in SC, so not sure if SC will get a seat to Moses, because today interview is for big boy... afraid the teacher will have comparison among them. ....

我恩恩衣家係11個半月,打算07年1-2月左右入幼兒園,我住鑽石山,去kowloon bay 兩個站,去九龍塘3個站,我多數都去德福,話哂近D,又平D,但冧緊國際or 中英班0羅

my suggestion- send her to study PN class when she is 2 years, select the kindergarten near your home since she is small. 德福, is good choice as i heard good comment about this,
Either 國際or 中英班, depends on what language you use at home; if she is taken care by your maid, speaking English, then let her study Chinese/Eng , same as me. Because most of the interviews for k1 is in Chinese, except Kenville/SC or international class(Kenville/SC- can select Language).

If she is taken care by your mother, or no chance to learn English at home, it is no harm to let her study in international class, so that she can have more chances to speak, especially she won't be too shy when facing with the foreigners.

Re k1- just play the games as us, try Kln Tong, not because that you have to try " famous brand", is because that the curriculums of those kindergartens arekmore tailor made for primary schools, so children can easier catch up when they are in primary schools. also, if unluckily she cannot enter a good primary school by allocation, you can try the private or DSS schools as the chances are higher if the children are from KLn tong famous schools..

I'm so excited when reading your message regarding Moses' interview! If I were the interviewer, I must accept Moses! His performance is indeed very good, have responses, not shy, correct answers... Even though he's not 100% follow the instructions, but I do think it's really OK (much more than OK) for a 2-yr old kid to perform so well.

Moses & you have already tried your best! Let's leave the others to GOD.

Dear Iris,

I am so touched to read your message, as I didn't call you yesterday because of busy at the office afternoon. You are so clever to find me here....

as i said in other topic, i am so happy about this , but not due to the high % of the acceptance, is because i can see my son show his improvement to me, and his patient during the interview. I find the PN class really helps to improve his shy character, before, he never talk to the stranger and only show the " nervous face"....
As a mother, i think it is more than enough as both of us have tried our best, if it really rejects Moses, i will not be too unhappy.. but i will still the overal result to see if i need to write letter to the school.

I hope all of us will be very happy to receive the letters from the schools!

re today Kenville interview..


I feel the arrangement is poor than SC.
the teachers did not allow us to enter if our interview time was not yet... not considerable.... so we have to wait outside..
the faces of the teachers are very serious, a bit like the department of Hong Kong Government..

Really don't understand why they have to
separte the boys and girls. I really feel there were too many tables in the interview room, making it was so noisy, teachers really cannot hear what Moses said.

the teacher didn't wait for Moses to warm up and sit down property, she started to play with him, and did not ask the questions in order.... and the process was too fast, everything is too rushed, or she presumed Moses as small boy so she didn't ask too much.. .

teachers are generally nice , but some are very old, over 45 years, and most of them look very traditional teachers.. ( like the teachers when i was in my kindergarten)..

the campus is clean and big, but a bit boring, as i saw the classroom in very plain decoration, .. very big different than SC.
It is my own feeling...

I guess why the teacher didn't ask too many questions to Moses :

1) she felt he was not qualified at the beginning so she does not want to waste her time.

or

2( when she see " fanny workshop " on my form, she accepts Moses??

anyway, hope all of you can get seats..

thank Q!你咁詳細咁幫我分析呀 ，我要返工，平時由婆婆(廣東話)&印印(識講英文,當然冇菲咁流利)睇住恩恩,而恩恩每日都會睇英文vcd song,(eg:迪X尼,phonics),因為佢未識講野,所以唔清楚吸收到英文or廣東話多D!

you are welcome, as this is my opinion, maybe you can seek for more advices ..

When Moses was 8 months, i started to search the kindergarten info for him, and have been asking a lot of people for the advices. I enjoy the process of the research, i have changed my mind many times, changed my target schools.

kinki o係 S.C 表現非常好! 因為一早起身好醒神! 但我反而覺得我自己答既問題有d緊張同埋假!!
佢地既老師真係好nice, 極其多鬼??? 真係我入去讀d eng 門都好好咁出返黎呀!

相反, 根德o係下湊in, 個衰囡包吾爭氣, 中午又吾瞓一陣, 攪到in既時候神情呆濟, 加上佢地既環境真係太嘈雜, 我眼見阿囡有幾個識既問題都吾答!! 切底失望!! :-( :-(

雖然見過兩間我都覺得S.C無論安排及校園方面都優勝, 但經濟上我都係like根德多d, 祝褔妳地既小朋友啦! 我宣佈失敗!!

其實jeffrey in 根德真係唔多得架，總括in咗4間，我最滿意係佢in 又一村，完全係一個正常既jeffrey。所以我覺得st cat同根德都係凍過水架啦，可能係因為以前jason去in 根德時，佢全部問題同動作都答哂，不過結果都係fail咗，我成日都會諗可能我哋既住址問題，今次jeffrey仲係答得咁細聲同有d仲唔識答，所以應該都係

don't be unhappy. in the topic of kindergarten, a mom quoted that the birth rate of girl is less than boy in 2003, and I know Kenville loves to accept more girls than boys. Kinki has higher chance, also they will understand Kinki is Dec born girl, they will give her bigger tolerance.

my personal feeling- if your kid looks pretty, cute, they will give higher marks, so don't worry, Kinki is
a very lovely girl.

on the other hand, so ... only " IF", Kenville put her in waiting list, which kindergarten will you put on 2nd choice now?

+wai,

don't be disappointed, i think the problem is the environment, under such environment, i believe most of the smart boys/girls cannot perform well during the interveiw, so means that there are higher % that they cannot perform, not only Jeffrey or Kinki..
so, it is the time to let Fanny show her qual, if she can get advantage..

also, though i think Moses did well in SC, i am still worry if it cannot accept him, as its acceptance criteria is unknown.
as i also concern there are strong competitors on 11/11, all they are big boys and girls. the interviewer may suddenly feel Moses looks more "baby " comparing with the other applicants on 11/11.
