I've just passed by and spent 2 hours to read through your topic. Your idea of forming playgroup is wonderful. I want to form one for my bb's age group as well. Please don't mind if I copy some of the information from your forum.

May be it is too early to say, but I've just wonder if we can share the idea and some course material in order to richer our group.

Thx for your compliments. Actually, our playgroup is very causal. We don't have a particular topic each time. But for mothers, we share our experiences in bring up the kids. And for babies, we hope they will learn something by playing with each other. Of course, we can exchange ideas and make everything good for our babies!

thanks! i also hope that your group turns out to be successful. in fact i know that this idea is pretty popular in USA.

as you can see at the very beginning we wondered how to run our group: some moms expected fixed schedule/game/format and some preferred casual style. now after having 2 playdates, we can tell (at least for the time being) we'd prefer casual playdate. it's 'cos our babies are somehow too small to play games together.

anyway, happy to share more.

btw, when was your baby born?

Thanks for sharing your valuable experience. My girl is a March bb. so she is 6 months now. You are right, don't expect too much from our bb. Just let them to explore in new environment and new friends is good enough.

Our first problem facing is the location. I found that 2 of your gatherings are in homes. Is it okay to accomodate so many people?

Some of our member suggest to book the function rooms. I think our group will be probably 4-6 members. Would you share the pros and cons of holding the gathering at home?

we don't plan to rent function rooms. we've got 3 playdates so far. and we've rotated among different homes. i think it's perfectly okay for 6 moms and 6 babies to meet at home, though you may say it's a bit packed, yet "warm"

pros: (1) time is more flexible. (2) there are washroom and kitchen nearby. (3) there are rooms such that we can hide to breastfeed or bottlefeed baby (it's true to some of us) (4) less costly (as it's supposed to be long-term thing) (5) atmosphere is more casual.

cons: (1) though we got 8 families, only 3-4 of us can offer big enough home for our playdates. so burden rest on these 3-4. (2) as we live across hong kong, travel is another issue.

i'd suggest you try out your homes first. if it really doesn't work out, then book outside places.

I'm really sorry for yesterday's absence, since I ook Kiu Kiu to Baby House, it took time for about 2 hours for photostyling, then we had to wait for 45 mins for the photo prints. But it worths! My hubby and I like the photos very much, I share them with you moms asap.

Don't worry. Actually we only had "Chung Chung", "Ka Lok", and Justin came yersterday. Ho Ying was the only girl there. But luckily she didn't cry at her own place. I think it is a big progress for her. Heard from Yuengooluk that you were having great time in baby house. Can't wait to see your pics.

regarding the photo-shooting, we had ours on sunday. but my son seldom smiled. :-( :-( and i was the one who tried hard to 引他笑. the guys there failed to do so. king king, they're not so pro as u described

my son even once wanted to cry 'cos of the young assistant.

so the photos are not so good. but still will post them onto the web later on.
