Agree, 唔認同. 個銀行朋友9眼看人低姐. Know many people who are (or were) executives at Fortune 500 companies, not one as far as I know, will hire an employee based on "better family background" or "where he lives". I am actually appalled at your friend's unprofessional mentality.
If anything, to me as a manager, provided that the two candidates both have a stellar resume, I personally find the candidate from a humble background more impressive; he or her has proved to be someone who can fight.
Hi, guess you mixed up two things here: alumni networking, and trivia labels like "family background", "household address", etc. I wasn't talking about alumni networking at all and I have NO issue against that. I just couldn't endorse what Pulmma's friend had said: making a hire decision based on "family background", "household address", etc. Are we clear on this? :)
