Blood sugar test

I had a Dr. appt today and the dr. told me that my blood sugar test result is not good. I need to go to see the nutritionist tomorrow, follow a diet and need to have blood test everyday. :-( I was marginal in last pregnant and managed to just reduce eating carb. But, my dr. said that this time is not marginal but over the average. I had the test last month and had received no follow-up phone call from the dr. so I thought that I'm okay. The dr. told me not to worry, just to cut carb and discuss with the nutritionist on how to control diet.

I only eat 1/2 to 3/4 bowl of rice at lunch or dinner. Sometimes, I have sandwich for breakfast and lunch (my husband usually makes me sandwich for lunch). Now, he said that he needs to starve me!!!! I craved for coffee recently (decaf latte with sugar), should I avoid it????

個多星期冇上BK, 各位好嗎？July 4th 去邊度玩呢？我同MattMatt去了SF Zoo，真係多人得緊要呀。可能因為係假期又係免費啦。我諗MattMatt仲細（15個月），未係好識。佢最開心就是公園漫步，因剛剛學識行。

bunnymonky, 你有冇去過Palo Alto的Mitchell Park？我星期日同MattMatt去，佢玩得不知幾開心，仲唔願返屋企。公園內有個嬉水設施有點像自動淋花灑水系統，水定時的從地上灑出，好適合細細個小朋友。係Yoga class的媽咪介紹，都覺得值得推介。

rose_meg, 恭喜呀。我都想三年抱兩，但要做牙手術唯有等等。我都有試過The Little Gym，但個人喜歡Gymboree多些。因MattMatt都係鍾意音樂和他好慢熱，Gymboree有自由時間、集體唱歌和遊戲。而The Little Gym則較側重Gymnastic，適合大一點的小朋友。你知唔知第一堂可以免費試的，試過鍾意先報名。佢通常唔會逼你，我都係咁做。

WOW, Just found this wonderful website 2 days ago. This is amazing. Love to say hi to MOMs in the SF area.

When reading about the Kindergarten age yes, it seems a little strict. However if the kid is not ready its better to wait a year.

Any good suggestions for public school?

Are you living in SF? There are some good public schools in SF but depends on which area your home is.

I live in SF. I already have "sorta" idea of which school we want to apply to. I really like the enviornment of Ulloa ES, I used to work there. The teachers are very strict and nurturing at the same time. I heard many good words about Alamo. But as for Alice Fong Yu, I know it is a good school, but I don't think we can get in.

So I am still debating.

So, you are living in Sunset? A lot of people want to get in Alice Fong but I heard that it is more difficult than winning a lottery. My husband's friend recommends Little Star (but wonder if it is a govt or private school). I have heard of some private schools in Richmond/Sunset -

Cornerstone at Lawton: my friend has registered her son to it and she has sourced for a lot of pre-school in Sunset. She said that Cornerstone is good, especially it is bilingual.

Fountain Spring at Cabrillo & Funston: my hubby's friend sent his 3 kids there and he likes the program there. But, I have met the principal and I considered her a good salesperson rather than a convincing teaching professional.

Peter's Place Nursery at Balboa & 4th Ave: my friend told me that it's a good school but the time schedule is a bit too strict.

How old is your kid? Mine is only 16 months, so I'm still searching.

It depend which school you would like to choose. Some popular ones have waiting list over a year. Also, it depends on how many kids would like to enter that school at that time. But, most of the pre-schools need the baby to be potty trained when he starts. So, you can search more information and ask people for comments first and visit the schools (see if you like it or not, usually the principal will arrange a tour for you). Some daycare centers accept babies until 3-4 years old but I only know 1 or 2 in Richmond area. If you are interested, I can give you the name and you can consider.

It's nice to meet many bay area mom here.
I'm living in sunset too and will interview some kindergardens in sept for next year program. My son will be a bit younger than 5 when he goes to school because his b-day is end of oct. Hopefully, he can get the good one la..

Sorry for the late reply, I've been pretty busy. Well, I like Alice Fong Yu because the discipline is very good at the school. Plus, all the other extra curricula things are all good at the school. I know it is very hard to get in, but I'll just give it a try. If I don't put its name down, I won't even have a "lottery ticket".

My son started preschool 3 months ago. SO far, I've been very satisfy with the school. The principal is very strict, and he has improved a lot. I was surprised when my son started to count from 1 to 20 one day.

I live in Daly City, but my in-laws live in Sunset, so I go there often.

My son will be 3 this August. He started preschool last May, and he loved it. The preschool he enrolled in is a whole-day preschool. I really like it myself. Well, other parents mentioned that they've had arugments with the principal, but they all chose to stay because their kids are learning.

Which preschool you send your son to? My son is now 16 months old and my husband said that we need to interview potential ones in Oct/Nov. I'm collecting all kinds of info before my 2nd baby's born (I might be too busy to even have my teeth brushed at that time

i used to live in SF and still have friends living over there and in Daly City.
most of their kids go to Cornerstone (private school).
my cousin-in-law is also a preschool teacher in SF (i don't know which one), but their kids are going to a different school which is also Cornerstone. so, i guess Cornerstone might be good.

My friend also has enrolled her son to Cornerstone which is quite close to her home and she likes the program there. She has sourced for pre-school for a while and finally she confirmed Cornerstone. Cornerstone actually provides pre-school, kindergarten and primary school but my friend said the location of kindergarten and primary school are not that good (I mean the neighborhood of the school). She showed me the brochures and I found the charge is quite reasonable. But, it is not close to my home hence, I still need to think about it.

I were about to put my son to cornerstone pre-school in sunset and finally I changed my mind. And he will go to
Little Star preschool Too in August. It is because their facility is old and the toys are old and a bit dirty. and I prefer multi-culture rather than all Chinese school. Of course, it is important to learn Chinese and the environment is important too for children learning.
This is just my opinion.

i think Cornerstone's location in Sunset is for preschool/kindergarten only and their location in "Silver district" is for elementary school.

i think the major population in most schools in S.F. is Chinese, especially the good ones. and it represents the major population in S.F. too.
it's true even in the South Bay, like the Cupertino school district.

Is Little Star difficult to enroll? My co-worker waited for 1 year and finally, he has to send his son to another pre-school because the waiting list was too long. What's the exact address of Little Star? How much for a full day care M-F? Thanks.
