I think I would like to buy some English material (such as phonics, etc) so that my maid can also watch with him. I have some Disneys' English play Along and Sing Along disks. But, it seems he doesn't like to watch it anymore. So, it will stop to play it for a while.
May I ask some questions about the phonics? I have found there are different phonics VCDs such phonics kids, phonics kingdom, phonics for kids. Which one are you using? Does Holman like to watch it? Many thanks.
htm,
For phonics kids, holman listen since he was three months and watched since he was six months. He liked it once.
For phonics kingdom, I bought it around last Aug./Sep., but holman didn't like it (waste my $$ :-(). In fact, the style is copying from phonics kids but longer with more vocabularies. I'm not sure other kids like it or not.
For both phonics kids and kingdom, it's very prelimary and not a systematics. They suitable for younger kids / kids just start out to learn phonics.
For phonics for kids, I did buy and no comment can be given.
For Letterland, holman learned it since he was ~20-22 months (can't remember the exact timing), he's still learning this on and off now.
Recently, he likes Magic Keys.
Ah~ one more, Richard Scarry's may also be a good choice for your kid
Some more questions...
For the "Scholastic award collection vcd", does you order it from online or purchase it from any shops? As I want to go to the shop for checking it first, do you have any idea where I can buy it? Many thanks again.
htm,
For Scholastic award collection, I bought from Kiss my kids (I bought @$49*10*0.8=$392). However, I just saw yesterday that (in TKO branch), they offered $379 for full set. You may also buy one of them (ie no need to buy full set) @$49*0.9=$44.1.
Besides, I know that Idea also has this set @$49*0.8 (if you are member).
You may order via www.digilearn.com.hk (@$49 each)
多謝你ga資料 and advices. I have order the phonics kingdom from GC.
Today, I have gone to Kiss My Kids and have buy some VCDs (Magic Key and scholastic video collection) for my kids.
And, as Kiss My Kids has on sales for some Disney toys, I have buy some toys too. Such as Pooh One-Man-Band, Mickey Mouse Harmonica, Mickey Fishing Boat Playset, Mickey Boom Box, etc. (buy 3 get 70% off on some Disney toys). 買買吓先知道自己pocket大出血
For the Letterland, I have called ETC and they claimed that they will recommend parent to learn it first and then watch the DVD with baby. As I'm a working mami, I haven't too much time at week days night. May I know how do you run the Letterland to your 大少 ?
htm,
I didn't have lessons in Letterland before (although I want to have once but can't find any time ) but have some other phonics lessons. However, you still can play the Letterland DVD (as a stories) and alphabet songs to your son first (the songs are quite interesting. Besides, I bought some postal and stick on the wall for him lor
