my period already came right after i stopped taking progesterone. hcg also back to normal. so i'm ready to do natural IUI + FET this month. wish me good luck!
i also talked to embryologist. remember i had 5AA blastocyst. that one turned out to be the abnormal one with all 23 chromosome monosomy! then the lowest grade (grade II) is the normal one! but is it true that PGD still doesn't improve the success rate because if i know PGD result, i would transfer the single normal embryo. If i don't know PGD result, i transfer 1 normal + 2 abnormal. Isn't the outcome the same? or is there study saying that the abnormal would affect the growth of the normal one?
another question, is there evidence that Intracytoplasic morphologically selected sperm injection (IMSI) provides better success rate? my lab doesn't use it. they said IMSI takes longer and it's not good to interfere the embryo too long. what's your opinion on that? it should have high power magnification to visualize inside the sperm, allowing specialists to pick the strongest sperm.
After 8 days of injection, I just had the eggs retrieval this morning. Only 7 eggs are retrieved ,is this too little? My dr said expect to have more than 10 eggs ! How come......I hope all will be high quality eggs
I have ET yesterday, and now resting at home.
I have a question about 陰道塞葯....
Can I use lubricant (like KY, Preseed) to help me insert the pill? (The pill is quite 'large size' and my vagina is dry)
Will the lubricant affect the absorption of the pill?
Don't worry too much...I only have 6 eggs, all 6 become embryo, 2 for ET, 2 for FET, the other two (1 is not growing, 1 only have 1 'core' not sure what that means)
I don't know why I am so young (32), still have so few eggs.
Cute cute town, may I ask you one more question?
When I have embryo transfer yesterday, right after the doctor insert the embryo and took out the "equipment", some liquid leaks out. Will there be any chance that the embryo will also leak out together with the liquid?
2. When two embryo is transferred into the uterus, is it more likely for age 37+ women to have twins. This is because I heard older aged women is more likely to carry twins.
If so, why is that?
Have a good weekend, and thanks for your help. You are wonderful.
Dear jlin123,
If you were to have transferred the normal embryo, maybe there would be no implantation and no rise in hcg at all. It is easy to say anything in retrospect. There was no study on how the abnormal could affect the growth of the normal because nearly no one would have transferred the two together if the normalcy was known.
IMSI has shown some improvement in cases with very very poor sperm. It is not a widely-used method because it is very labor-intensive and also needs very sophisticated equipment. The concept of having "normal" morphology has some merit; however, as you have just seen from your embryos, morphology is not everything.
Dear peko1400,
I don't know if it is ok to use lubricants, better not; please check with your ivf center.
As you said, you are only 32. Usually with first time ivf on young patients, doctors tend to use milder stimulation. Often times you don't need 20+ eggs to get pregnant; you need only 1 good embryo for 1 baby, the few extra ones are there to be your "insurance" in case you don't bingo with the first 1 or 2 embryos.
I agree with your nurse not to do heavy exercise; don't cross-train even you very much want to. You had very bad tummy pain only a few days ago. "Reward" yourself by taking some rest. Light exercises such as taking a walk will be good enough.
During an embryo transfer procedure, the doctor (i) inserts a speculum (the "equipment" you referred to) into the vagina, (ii) clean the cervix a little, (iii) insert the embryo transfer catheter which delivers the embryos into the uterus, (iv) return the catheter to the lab to double-check no embryo retained inside the catheter, then (v) finally remove the speculum. Unless the embryos were not delivered into the uterus in step (iii), the liquid you mentioned should not carry your embryo.
Not sure about "older aged women is more likely to carry twins". I only know it's usually harder to get them pregnant compared to younger ones. So I can't really comment on that statement, sorry.
Dear cutecutetown
Thank you for your reply.
I have more questions, but I guess I will ask you later. I just want to keep a simple mind in the next few days and stay positive, without worrying too much...
Have a great day!
