有答案喇, 同 kitchu講嘅一樣, Amanda有US passport, 冇支格申請特區護照... 唉! 但入境署會發90日visa俾Amanda if 佢係我爸爸媽咪嘅dependence.
Amanda要居港滿7年至可以擁小童身份證...

I rarely chat in here. But the topic of "HK residency" caught my attention.

I sent in the application for my son in Nov last year. The process was very fast and they responded very quickly. However, they asked a lot of different kinds of info (like baby's passport and the copy of the stamp that HK Imm. Dept put on his passport when he entered HK, our US tax return copies, our proof of residency in the US. . . and finally 2 months later, I got the letter from the HK Immigration Department. They denied my son's application. The reason is "You & your husband are Chinese Citizens and had settled in the US at the time of your son's birth. Therefore, your son is NOT a Chinese citizen and hence not eligible for the status of permanent resident of the HKSAR under the Immigration Ordinance xxxx. Although you and your husband were born in HK, your son cannot become a "British Dependent Territories Citizen" by descent as he was born after 1 July 1997."

If any of you are interested in reading the whole letter (with the quotes of the ordinance . . .), please PM me and I'd be glad to email you a copy of the letter.

What I would say is not to put too much hope, unless you and your husband are NOT US residents or US citizens. If any of the parent is a US resident/citizen, they probably wouldn't grant you the HK residency. However, the child would be able to get HK residency after he's stayed/lived in HK for 7 years!

我撞吓撞吓見到你係另一個forum喥講有關baby/toddler瞓覺嘅training, 覺得你好有心得...所以有d問題想請教吓你...唔該你先!

其實我個仔係1歲多已經自己瞓覺, 佢同我哋一間房瞓嘅, 不過就瞓自己床仔. 但上星期佢突然要我哋陪佢瞓, 我同佢講nite nite啦叫佢自己瞓, 佢就忍住但一陣都喊出聲, 好悽凉咁叫"媽媽瞓覺覺"

於是我或者我老公就要陪佢瞓先瞓着(其實佢好累!) 最初我以為佢怕黑, 但有時daytime nap都會叫我陪 ?-( 我睇過你寫d專欄話小朋友病過就有可能由頭train過, 冇錯, 佢之前病過但已過咗成個禮拜喎 ?-( 咁佢以前病完都冇試過咁囉!

I want to apply the HKid to my girl. If kids was born after 1 July 1997, cannot become a " British Depxxxxxxx". I think my girl only get one passport in US. I want to see the whole letter too! Can you please sent it to me? Pls check PM. thanks!

I think we are the earliest to try buy mooncake this year, because I always don't know what date exactly is or the location was far from my house. In here, chating with muimui313, and other mommies, I decided to buy " tsui shu yuen " try try that was babygigi introduce, so we are happy to go to the Torrance 99 ranch supermarket last Friday. This store is close my place and only one big Chinese supermarket. It is very disappointment. They have not " Wing Wah " and " Tsui Shu Yuen ." and others HK style also no " garden " no, " maximum " no..... Finally, I did not buy. We only bought one " Sun Tung Yuen " for a gift send to my mom-in-law.

If you want apply your parents to US. People said, Hold citizenship is faster than hold green card resident to apply family. And if your hubby is a citizen, you only wait 3 yrs, and then you can apply the citizenship interview. and then apply your parents come here to stay. But I don't know how many year different from green card and citizen holder.

See what's your opinion: some of u know that my hubby and I have picked the name "Karina" for our bb months ago. However, now that Hurricane "Katrina" has such a similar spelling, I just a bit worried whether our girl will be teased by others next time when she goes to school....

My hubby said that I am just worrying too much, what do u think???

To my knowledge, only US citizens can apply their parents to immigrate to the US. But, on the other hand, either a US PR or citizen can apply their children to immigrate to the US. My hubby applied his parents some time in Aug 2001, but they got their interview in 2 years. Normally it's only a year but they "got stuck" because of "9-1-1" (the INS slowed down the process.) The line should be shorter if they have the interview in HK. You can get more info from the USCIS (former INS)'s website:

Hi, Woodbury outlet is about 5 hour from where you at, but there's a pretty big outlet here at PA, it call franklin mill Mall, and shopping at PA is better, No sales tax. I believe they have website.
www.franklinmills.com, where at maryland you live at, we went to the oceancity MD beach before, but haven't been there for 2 years.

my baby is 2 and a half already, i was giving her 七星茶ever since she's a baby, it just that she is having ezcema now, so i am thinking maybe there's something you can give the new born baby, so hopefully it will help.

hi, nice meeting you, i have took my daughter to see the dermatologist and also the herbalist. but they are not that helpful, and I just find another pediatric dermatologist, and i make a appointment to bring my daughter to see her this month. and also, my friend told me to use the 綿茵陳 and 金銀花 to boil water to give my daugher a bath, and so far, i did that for like 4 times, and her skin got alot better, not as dry as before. and also, I bought the oilatum junior cream and oilatum bath formula to use on her.. i just use that once, haven't know what effective that is yet. i will keep you posted when I found out more about the oilatum junior cream.

So do I have to wait for Natalie to turn 11 before I can apply for her HK ID card? I know when I bring her to HK, I can ask for an "indefinite stay" stamp to be put in her passport. That's what they gave me when I was little before I could apply for the HK ID card.

I think your hubby is right, by the time Karina goes t school, people will have long forgotten about the Katrina Hurricane. Honestly, I don't remember the names of any other hurricanes from before

I have to go get mooncakes soon. My MIL called last night and said she wants a box. I will probably go to Kee Wah cuz it's so close to my house. You can try going to Monterey Park Kee Wah or TS Emporium, they have many brands in TS Emporium (tak sing hon)

Natalie is only taking 5-6 steps at a time so we still have some time before starting to chase her around. How is Jada?

Natalie is older now so she won't stay in the playpen. We will not get her the superyard either cuz she's already used to going "freedom walk" all over the family room.

How is baby Kurt doing? Have you started school yet?

Yan,

Natalie used to have eczema too but as she got older, it was less and less. Occasionally she will get them on her wrist but I just put thick moisturizer and it will go away. How bad is your daughter's eczema? I believe it has to do with her digestive system and not "poison" from birth.

我又黎啦。
現在9唔9先上BK﹐一陣再追返你地D POSTS。
原本一直唔想整粥仔呀仔食﹐因為懶

& 醫生﹐NILLIE都覺得糊仔有營養D SINCE唔使經過高溫。其實呢幾個禮拜麻麻一直講第時會整大魚/鯇魚腩粥+落D鹽對BB好?-( ?-( ?-( ?-( ﹐其實我唔係噤想因好耐之前都話淡水魚有好多菌﹐而且腩位又比較肥+上BB唔應該食鹽。ANYWAY﹐噤我稔住帶D自己煮既粥過去等RYAN 0係麻麻面前食﹐噤*希望*她唔會整啦。

我尋日整左三文魚+番茄粥﹐一心稔著可能第一次食﹐會唔食都未定﹐但點知呀仔食完第一啖﹐比左個打冷震+皺眉頭既LOOK我之後﹐再食第2啖又OK窩﹐FINISH左平時食糊仔既份量添。我好SURPRICED。不過呀仔鐘意食糊仔多過粥仔。:mrgreen:

尋日我同拉高RYAN對手扶著他企係地下﹐他見到老豆就行左3-4步過去佢老豆0個邊(當時我扶著佢)。我問佢老豆係咪算學行﹐點知佢老豆話唔係﹐只係呀仔對我對悶左所以見到老豆要飛樸埋去。

我笑返佢話梗係佢唔低得呀仔晚晚錫錫我先訓﹐所以佢有妄想症哈哈。

我稔DEPENDS ON你朋友會唔會買名牌﹐WOODBURY有CHENNAL﹐PRADA﹐GUCCI, AMANI等等專門店﹐好多OUTLET都無。WOODBERRY 0個間OFF 5TH係超級平﹐平過第D OFF 5TH。NY現在衫褲鞋4%稅﹐但我唔SURE 0個邊係咪﹐或者可打去問下。不過我稔真係要行成日﹐之前我地去行4-5個鐘都行唔到一半STORE。
其實CENTURY 21 D野都好平﹐又無噤遠﹐而家D油噤貴。

Sorry that my writing board is not working today..
It does happen after infant has gone sick before hand. So, you need to spend another 2-3 weeks time to train him to sleep by his own again. Don't let him overdrive you guys, kids learn that really fast. Every will get sick but after that, it is not a reason for them to abuse the love of their parents. Unless you don't mind to sleep with him at all.
Put him into bed when he is awake and then, let him cry for a while, he will learn it, that even he cries, he will gain nothing, after 2-3 weeks, he will get used to sleep by himself again.

I have asked the Immigration office here in New York, they said that I am not allow to apply the I-130 for my parents until I become citizen in US, so I have to wait until August 2008, when I become citizen, then I can apply I-130 for my parents, and my parents will get their green card right away.

About the HK ID card.. that is really a pain for me. Even my father told the immigration officer that Amanda will live in Hong Kong with them, she will only have a stamp for dependence visa for 90 days.
I feel so bad.. why I don't apply the PR for Amanda before I get my green card, now I am regret about it. :-( :-( :-(
