Can I let my baby drink vitasoy milk?

My baby is 1 and 1/2 years old, he likes vitasoy milk very much. He has drunk it for twice. He could finish a pack of 250 ml within 5 minutes. I just don't know whether vitasoy milk is good for a baby at this age. Do your babies drink it as well? Please advise.

For a baby, the milk is much better than vitasoy milk. Of course, your baby can drink the vitasoy milk but once a day only.

I think Vitasoy has too much sugar for your 1.5 yr old. He likes it probably because it tastes so sweet.
Fresh Milk is better for babies before 2 yr. old.
Or you can try 加鈣豆漿。

My baby is allergic to any kind of milk even the low allergic ones. I've breast fed him since he was born. Now he is a big baby, he has congee every day. Recently he hates congee. On Tuesday afternoon, he refused to eat any congee at all. He took a pack of vitasoy milk for himself and indicated to me that he wanted to drink it. Once I opened it, he could finish it within 5 minutes. Again, at that night he had another pack. I know vitasoy may not as good as milk or fresh made bean soy, but I just wonder if he refuses to eat, whether it is one of the choices even it is not an ideal one.

Please adise.

Hi goodyma:
Food allergies is always a pain...

My 20 month-old son drinks nothing but milk and water only. He has been eating the same food as us since he is 12 months old, of course without the added seasoning on home-cooking meals.

Have you tried him on other types of food other than congee? Alphabets Pasta, Macaroni, Whole Grain Bread, Sweet Potato, Plain Rice with chopped up vegetables and meat, Tofu, Egg...
If your baby is allergic to milk, may be you can try to supplement his diet with soy-based baby formula designed for 1.5 year olds if you are worried that he is not getting enough nutrients.
How about drinking some fresh fruit juice?
Your baby will eat when he is hungry. My son loves to chew and hate mushy food like congee and mashed potato. His appetite changes all the time too because toddlers grow in spurts.

Hi Gab:

Thank you for your advice. In addition to allergic to all dairy products, my baby is also allergic to meats and eggs. He is vegetarian.

I tried to supplement him with soy-based baby formula, he seemed hated the taste of it. He does not like fruit juice. What he has for every day are: my milk for 4 times, 2 fruits and 2 bowl of vegetable congee.

Please advise me of any vegetarian recipts.
