should we consider the religious background when selecting kindergartens
My baby is almost 1 year, i am now searching the kindergarten info for him. however, when we select the kindergartens, should we also consider if the kindergartens are Christian kindergartens?
how about Catholic?
because some of my target kindergartens do not have religious background..
my 傳 道 said for kindergartens, it does not have big problem if studying in " no religious", but when primary school, we should select Chirstian schools, as the children have their own minds .
Re: should we consider the religious background when selecting kindergartens
This topic has been shared before in late 2003.
I can tell you that Catholic Kindergarten don't have much religious topic, I am quite sure about it. Their so called religious subject is mainly moral, ethics, like 孝順父母, 相親相愛, 幫助弱小, 關懷長者... 之類; even if touching the religious sector, only involve Father & the Son, such as 耶穌哥哥喜歡小朋友....天父愛我....
Though my son is not studying in Catholic Kindergartens, I have bought a lot of story books from the Parish for Catholic kindergartens' use, no such topics as Christian brothers/sisters concern, about Mary, mother of Jesus. By the way, there are quite a lot of kindergartens, saying they are managed by a Catholic organisation, I have checked with them personally, they don't even teach children to say prayers; only those manage directly by a church teach to say prayers.:-(
You should trust your 傳道員. Anyway, if you can have a choice of Christian Kindergarten, I think you might put it on priority, then for Catholic or no religion you better also consider the quality of the kindergarten as well (the method of teaching kids).
