Are you talking about the round one installed on the window?

If yes and if you don't mind the work you can try take it off (you will need to unscrew some parts) and wash different parts separately with detergent). Try find out the screw and check how the fan put together. I used to do it this way to clean up dust and grease.

IMPORTANT

Remember to unplug the fan before doing it.

Hi Miffy,

There may be some dust heavily caught between the fan and the base after your husband sprayed it with WD40. You see WD40 is basically oil based lubricant therefore dust will become sticky and difficult to remove.

Try using a wooden skewer; turn around the joint between the fan and the base see if you could remove something or clean it with a cotton bud with alchol.

This is what I could think of :cry: :cry:
