I only used water to make congee before. Last night I tried to use soup to make the congee. I boiled the carrot and corn soup to make the congee. But the outcome is it was very very sweet. I did not add any sugar or salt in the soup. It's Ok if I just drank the soup separately. But once I used it to make the congee, it became very sweet, just like I put lots of sugars in the congee. So I dare not to give it to my baby to eat last night. Is it normal (became very sweet after using the soup)? OK for a 6-mth old baby to eat? Will it be too sweet? I just wonder if I used to much carrots and corn so that soup became too sweet to make the congee. Please help!!!
