No need to give water if fed on breastfeeding totally.
I have read an article that we should not give excess water to bb as their excretory system is not well established. Excess water can make them 中水毒
eyan,
Sorry that I've forgotten where I read that article (I found it in bk). Actually, it stated that as the kidney of the baby is not that well developed, it may not be able to expel excess water in their body. So, if given too much water, it will be dangerous for them.
I remembered that the amount of water given should not exceed a certain portion of the amount of milk taken by bb. Any mothers have the info? ?-(
I haven't give water to my BB till now (she will be 3months old tomorrow). However, if we don't give her water, will she refluse to drink water after 6 months as the water was not sweet & no taste? ?-(
I didn't feed my son water until he was 6 months old. When he started trying solid food, I just give him water instead of juice. I just give some juice when he is elder. Now he won't refuse drinking water. Sometimes he will request for it.
