I was checking my maid's log book for buying food from the market against the receipts. I wonder how come my maid always marked the amount (for meat) "less" than that on the receipt.... for at least over a month. I asked her if she cross-checked with her receipts. Then she said the shopkeeper always marked up the amount such that the maids could cheat on US-employers! The shop is in Causeway Bay near Times Square. Beware.
I am glad my maid (3 months) is honest with me. Of course I complimented her virtue!!!! All maids before her would only cheat on me, only she is so innocent!
I used to accompany my maid to go to the market when she is new to the post. As I got friendly relationship with the market stores, she should know all my requirements.
