Yes, the mattress is very thick and this can be a problem. As I was moving houses and had to buy new furniture, I ordered from Sealy a custom-made bed as well when I bought the Lafayette mattress. So they built a higher bed with a higher headboard. When I bought the two sidetables, I also bought higher ones.
Otherwise, if the headboard and the two sidetables are too low, it would look very strange and it is not convenient.
Not only the furniture has to be specially chosen, but also the bedsheets as well. Because the mattress is so thick, I have to go to those shops that particularly sell beddings for hotels in order to buy those for thick/European-size mattresses. Someone also taught me to buy a bigger size bedsheet from regular brands, which I did. I ended up having to buy King-size bedsheets even though my Lafayette mattress is only Queen-size. Still the bedsheet is not really that big enough - but only just just enough.
The height of bed, height of sidetables and the size of beddings... all have to be considered when buying such a thick mattress, as always.
Sorry, I can't take photos with my phone and my husband is not in HK these 2 weeks and so I cannot use his phone to take/upload photos.
But for your reference, I have just measured the height of my two 床頭櫃, they are 29 inches high. With this height, the top surface of the 床頭櫃 is about 3-4 inches slightly higher than the height of the mattress and the bedframe added together, which is what we prefer. In addition, we haven't put bedside lamps on the 床頭櫃 because our bedside lamps are floor-standing ones on the two outer sides of the 床頭櫃. So if you want to put bedside lamps on top of 床頭櫃, you have to take into consideration the height of your lamps and then adjust the height of your 床頭櫃 .... all depends on your habits/preferences....
One more piece of information for your reference - the base of my bed ordered from Sealy is about 11.5 inches high. So the bed base + the mattress added together are around 25 - 26 inches above the floor.

wingkichu,
thanks for your sharing.
你張床底得十一吋高,應該冇油壓床在底吧!
Yes, Sealy does not do 油壓床. My bed is not a 油壓床 and it only has low drawers (three in total).
床頭 is 皮面 cushion. You can choose from Sealy 人造皮 or 真皮, different prices.
My bedframe and mattress are 5尺6寸 X 6尺3寸. I forgot exactly how much it is just for the bedframe but I remember the mattress and the bedframe together cost something under $5XXXX. (全真皮). My husband keeps all the receipts and so I can ask him after he comes back to HK. But you can easily check with their store too (Kowloon Bay).
You don't really have to order the bed from Sealy when you buy your mattress. There are more styles for beds in many other stores (Sealy has very limited choice for bed styles). We bought two at the same time only because we were too lazy to shop around or to buy 2 things from 2 different stores. If I were to choose again, I would not choose the style with drawers underneath. I would have chosen a bed without any storage space underneath (and so the bed would be even lower) and so the bed with the mattress would look even nicer.
