We don't live in that area, we live in Maroubra. In fact, I went back to HK to give birth, I am still in HK, don't have to go back to work until February. Are you full time mum? I am thinking of getting a baby sitter or putting her to child care. otherwise, I am not sure if I should bring the baby back to Sydney as I can't handle her by myself. Do you have any good suggestions?

I'm full time mum right now because of pregnacy.I got a maid now and I still thinking how to bring her there. You know the travel visa for maid is only for 1 month stay, but I just get the update news can apply her stay longer maybe 3 months and then after that extand the visa again. I still waiting how to apply, I will tell you later if you want to know.
In Aust, the labour is so expensive, cannot hire maid like HK, I don't know how much the babysisiter in Aust, I think not cheap, better bring your baby to childcare is more better.
Are you working in HK or Aust? If you working in HK, for sure must hire maid, but if you're working in Aust, better bring your baby to childcare because my son feel very happy in school, 1st time my son go to childcare is about 1.5 years old, before that he is very boring at home, only facing with the maid only, after I bring him to childcare, he change a lot; He alway singing, dancing,....... In child care, they can learn a lot. Actually my parents also in Sydney but I also will bring my son to attend some playgroup or childcare.
Now your baby is 6 moths only, now is very easy to handle all the things, after she can walk, you workload will increase a lot, like need to cook congee, pasta,....etc., to her. Later you will understand.
i know about the baby bonus but HK has recently change the immigration law, whoever is not born in HK will not have the 3 star residency, that's why i come back to give birth.
i am still working in Aust, my holiday end in Feb, so i am still thinking where should i and baby be? i know it will be harder when she gets olders, that's why no sure what to do.
how to you sponsor the maid to Aust, i have ask the immigration department, they told me unless i have a company, otherwise, no way. so u have sponsor your maid to Aust for 1 month, tell me how did u did that? i want to sponsor mine as well, then my problem will be solved....
I still thinking how important the 3 star resdency is? I don't know, can you tell me why? Because I decide to giving birth in Aussie soon!
Ha! Ha! I don't think you will left your baby in HK only; You know, if you back to Aust by your own, you'll miss a lot of things when your baby growing up; you'll really miss her a lot & a lot....
Last time I just appy a travel visa for my maid, you can sponsor for her because you're her employer, no need to have a Company. Anybody can apply their maid from this way, the process only spend about 1 - 2 weeks only, very fast to obtain the visa. But the problem is she can stay in Aussie 1 month only. So I think this way is not worth for you. If you're working full time in Aussie, I think the only way is bring her to child care.
I will tell you how to bring my maid there longer later, but I think the maid can max. stay 6 months only; I still waiting somebody's reply for me, tell you later!
You can thinking which way is worth for you. In HK you can only spend below HK$4,000 to hire maid but in Aust, the childcare expend is ~A$60 per day.
