Personally I think it might be a trick of the landlord to terminate the contract without giving any compensation. However, if what the landlord mentioned is true and you have no intention to move out, you better wait for the instruction of the bank that will takeover the property ownership from your landlord. You are still under the protection of the contract signed with your landlord even if the ownership is changed.
You can ask for it but it's up to the landlord whether he/she would like to disclose it or not. Anyway, just bear in mind that you are protected by the contract and the landlord need to compensate you the balance months as stated in the contract if he/she wants you to move out.
