Just my own experience, my friend who has order a 3lbs 3-d Babie cake and a 3lbs 3-d castle cake for last year and this year to serve about 45 guests in a party. I saw the pieces of cake still left many on the table. The birthday cake in the photo was look so pretty. So I think that 3lbs is quite enough. Don't waste the food.
